Consultant Neuro-Interventional Radiology
Job Role
Managerial Task:
Supports implements and follows all hospital departmental and divisional initiatives policies and procedures
Helps lead and implement the organizations performance management system including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
Participates in the organizations performance management system including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes
Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring that adequate medical coverage is provided within the Division at all times
Attends Divisional meetings as required
Assists the Division Chief in the recruitment of new medical staff when appropriate
Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief
Technical Task:
Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holders specialty. The Consultant Physicians clinical duties include but are not limited to the following:
Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide
Complies with all established hospital polices regarding admissions consultations daily patient care surgical procedures discharge protocols outpatient and follow up practices
Practices appropriate utilization of the organizations resources
Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice
Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures
Regularly reviews results of all investigations and modifies treatment as required
Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required
Actively participates in multi-disciplinary meetings to help plan effective safe and holistic care for individual patients
Ensures preparation of patients for all procedures including obtaining informed consent
Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department primary care other departments specialty clinics walk in patients and patients referred from other hospitals
Requirements
Qualifications
Qualification from Tier 1
Current national license or equivalent
Certified proof of yearly CME
Additional Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Neurointerventional Radiology
American Board CCT UK Australian Board any Western Board Fellowship or additional certification in Neurointerventional Radiology
Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in Neurointerventional Radiology
Valid DOH (Department of Health - Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility.
Experience working within JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred.
