Role Overview
A leading global IT group with operations across 30 countries has an exciting opportunity for a technically exceptional Assistant Finance Manager to join its Group Finance function in Dubai.
An Assistant Finance Manager to join our Group Finance function in a critical role supporting financial consolidation statutory reporting audits and acquisition activities across multiple jurisdictions.
This role is suited for a technically strong finance professional with deep IFRS expertise experience in multi-entity and multi-currency environments and the ambition and capability to progress into a Group Finance Controller position over time.
Key Responsibilities
Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare and manage monthly quarterly and annual group consolidations across 30 international subsidiaries.
- Ensure accurate elimination of intercompany transactions balances and unrealized profits.
- Manage multi-currency consolidation foreign exchange translation transfer pricing and related reserve accounting.
- Maintain and enhance consolidation processes controls and reporting timetables.
IFRS & Technical Accounting
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS standards across the group including complex areas such as business combinations goodwill share-based payments leases revenue recognition and financial instruments.
- Prepare technical accounting position papers and support policy development.
- Monitor new and amended IFRS standards and assess group-wide impact.
Audit & Statutory Compliance
- Lead coordination with external auditors during interim and annual audits.
- Prepare audit schedules disclosures and supporting documentation for group and subsidiary financial statements.
- Ensure timely filing and compliance with statutory requirements across jurisdictions.
Mergers & Acquisitions Support
- Participate in financial due diligence for acquisitions and divestments.
- Review target company financials quality of earnings working capital and risk areas.
- Support purchase price allocation acquisition accounting and post-acquisition integration.
Governance & Internal Controls
- Strengthen group financial controls reporting accuracy and governance frameworks.
- Support internal control documentation and compliance initiatives.
- Promote best practices in financial reporting ethics and transparency.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with regional finance teams auditors tax advisors legal teams and senior management.
- Support Board and Audit Committee reporting as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Fully qualified accountant: CA ACCA CPA or equivalent.
- 5 years of relevant experience in group accounting consolidation or technical accounting roles.
- Strong hands-on experience consolidating financials across multiple entities and geographies.
- Proven IFRS expertise including business combinations and complex accounting topics.
- Experience working in regulated corporate environments.
- Solid exposure to external audits and statutory reporting.
Desirable
- Experience in IT technology or professional services sectors.
- Prior involvement in M&A transactions and post-merger integration.
- Experience with consolidation systems.
