The Head of Energy - EMEA will perform all functions of an EMEA and Cluster PCM: handling budgets P&L cross sell and will be a member of both: the EMEA leadership team and the GCCNA leadership team. Next to being in charge of an existing team of 3 underwriters all based in Dubai the role will have accountability for business planning and the execution of strategic initiatives across Europe including a build-out of the Energy underwriting functions in Germany and Spain.

Additionally this role will also be responsible for oversight of underwriting staff portfolio management building and enhancing broker and insured relationships training & developing current underwriting teams hiring additional staff maintaining profitability and development/execution of successful business plan.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• In depth knowledge in Technical Underwriting with a thorough knowledge of Energy wordings
• Excellent Broker and Client relationships in the GCC and North Africa.
• Fluent English speaker (additionally Arabic and/or French preferable).

• Broad based insurance industry experience
• Strong relationships with brokerage partners

• Talent assessment and development for bench strength and succession planning.
• Proven collaborative leadership skills.
• Strategic orientation.
• Strong influencing and communications skills and ability to work across multiple areas of company.
