Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dubai United Arab Emirates. As a Senior Project Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing planning and delivering complex projects within the electricity distribution and transmission industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate in a fast-paced technically challenging environment.
- Design plan and execute large-scale electrical engineering projects from conception to completion ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Develop and implement project plans including resource allocation budgeting and scheduling
- Lead and mentor project teams fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Conduct thorough site investigations and develop comprehensive engineering solutions and designs
- Manage multiple concurrent projects balancing priorities and resources effectively
- Prepare detailed cost proposals quotations and validated estimates for project offers
- Oversee equipment specification procurement and supplier/contractor interfaces
- Review and approve designs submissions and tenders from various stakeholders
- Ensure project delivery meets quality safety and environmental standards
- Conduct regular project audits and site inspections to maintain high-quality standards
- Identify and mitigate project risks developing contingency plans as needed
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred); HNC or equivalent qualifications will be considered
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electricity distribution and/or transmission industry with a proven track record in project engineering
- Demonstrated experience managing major projects and high-volume workstreams including responsibility for projects valued in excess of $5 million
- Strong technical knowledge across all distribution asset classes (cables overhead lines substations and civil works)
- Expertise in managing projects from low voltage up to and including 66kV systems
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and software tools
- NEBOSH certification or equivalent qualification in safety management
- Experience working on CDM (Construction Design and Management) notifiable projects
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse project teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach to work
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time within budget and to high-quality standards
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards in the UAE electrical sector (preferred)
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
