About the Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Casualty Underwriter to join our clients team in the DIFC this role you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of casualty insurance products for our clients. You will work closely with our sales team to develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new and renewal casualty insurance policies in accordance with company guidelines and standards
- Analyse and evaluate risk exposures and determine appropriate coverage and pricing
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to promote new business opportunities and ensure retention of existing business
- Review and negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients
- Monitor and manage portfolio performance including profitability and loss ratios
- Stay updated on market trends and developments in the casualty insurance industry
- Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters as needed
- Collaborate with other departments such as claims and finance to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Participate in industry events and conferences to represent the company and network with potential clients and partners
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Finance or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in casualty underwriting
- Strong knowledge of casualty insurance products and market trends
- Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and underwriting software
- Professional designation such as CPCU or ARM is preferred
