Job Summary

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Casualty Underwriter to join our clients team in the DIFC this role you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of casualty insurance products for our clients. You will work closely with our sales team to develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite new and renewal casualty insurance policies in accordance with company guidelines and standards
Analyse and evaluate risk exposures and determine appropriate coverage and pricing
Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to promote new business opportunities and ensure retention of existing business
Review and negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients
Monitor and manage portfolio performance including profitability and loss ratios
Stay updated on market trends and developments in the casualty insurance industry
Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters as needed
Collaborate with other departments such as claims and finance to ensure efficient and effective operations
Participate in industry events and conferences to represent the company and network with potential clients and partners

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business Finance or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in casualty underwriting
Strong knowledge of casualty insurance products and market trends
Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and underwriting software
Professional designation such as CPCU or ARM is preferred
