Role Overview
The Dean of Continuous Professional Learning is a senior academic leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for lifelong learning professional development and teaching and learning innovation. The role focuses on developing high-quality continuous professional learning programmes driving pedagogical excellence and expanding flexible learning pathways that support learners across different career stages.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic academic leadership for continuous professional learning and lifelong learning initiatives
Develop and implement faculty strategy aligned with institutional goals for professional education and skills development
Lead the design review and delivery of professional learning programmes micro-credentials and certification pathways
Champion innovation in teaching learning and assessment including digital and flexible delivery models
Ensure academic quality relevance and coherence across continuous professional learning offerings
Foster research scholarship and evidence-based practice in teaching and learning innovation
Build and maintain partnerships with industry professional bodies employers and education stakeholders
Contribute to academic governance committees and quality assurance processes
Collaborate with senior leaders faculty and professional teams to align learning initiatives across the organisation
Support the professional development and capability building of academic and instructional staff
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Doctoral degree (PhD EdD or equivalent) in Education Learning Sciences Professional Practice or a related discipline
Significant senior academic leadership experience within higher education or professional education environments
Proven experience in continuous professional learning curriculum development or teaching and learning innovation
Demonstrated success in leading strategic academic initiatives and organisational change
Established research or scholarly profile relevant to teaching learning or professional education
Experience with academic governance accreditation or quality assurance frameworks
Strong stakeholder engagement communication and leadership skills
Experience working in complex or multi-disciplinary academic environments
