We are looking for a Business Insights Manager to join our Strategy Growth and Transformation team within one of Construction Industries newly formed divisions: Customer Solutions Growth Regions. The division is regionally focused on Africa the Middle East Eurasia Asia (excluding Japan) and Latin America (LATAM) and organized into three functional areas: Customer Facing Customer Solutions and Business Enablers.

This role is part of the Customer Solutions team the engine of our businessdriving growth by delivering tailored territory-specific solutions that solve customer pain points accelerate decision-making and enable profitable sales execution.

About Strategy Growth and Transformation Team

The team provides Data and insights forexecutive decision making and sales execution - ensuring that we are delivering our internal and external commitments as we set up the organization. We are responsible for driving accountability for results in Caterpillar and the Caterpillar dealer network. The team uses both structured and innovative problem solving to define opportunities and are centre of excellence for key strategic projects to drive results.

As the Business Insights Manager you will lead the development of timely executive ready yet granular insights to enable decision making accountability and results.

Role Definition:
Leads one or more consulting engagement modules to understand analyze develop and recommend Strategy & Planning (S&P) solutions as a divisional lead or for a business segment.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

  • Leads analyses and solution development for key S&P engagement module(s) as a divisional lead or for a business segment; performs more complex activities

  • Works closely with clients to define the business problem issues and planned approach for one or more S&P engagement components as a divisional lead or for a business segment

  • Oversees performance of S&P engagement data collection research and reporting activities and staff as a divisional lead or for a business segment. Coaches junior team members and clients

  • Provides recommended S&P solutions. Works with senior consultants / managers to develop and deliver client presentations as a divisional lead or for a business segment

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Postgraduate qualification preferred

  • Minimum of 810 years of professional strategy related experience

  • Strong preference for candidates with management consulting experience.

  • Proven experience working within multinational organizations and across multiple territories

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

Planning: Tactical Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term) tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Develops refines and communicates tactical plans for own responsibilities.

  • Provides the right level of detail as input for strategic plan development.

  • Demonstrates the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan.

  • Ensures attention to the detail and dependencies of existing departmental-level plans.

  • Plans for allocation of resources in line with unit goals technical and business objectives.

  • Ensures the planning process is integrated with the overall business plan.

Consulting: Knowledge of techniques roles and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Analyzes and fully documents client requirements.

  • Applies experience to developing and executing multiple consulting assignments.

  • Works with client to identify alternative solutions and associated pros and cons.

  • Prepares proposals and presentations for a consulting opportunity.

  • Manages all aspects and phases of a consulting relationship.

  • Monitors consulting assignments versus expectations.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Reviews others writing or presentations and provides feedback and coaching.

  • Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.

  • Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Evaluates stakeholder profiles roles claims and interests in an organization and how these may conflict.

  • Consults stakeholders in identifying opportunities for strategic change while evaluating the strategic choices available to an organization.

  • Manages conflicting stakeholder priorities when implementing strategic-change initiatives.

  • Oversees business operations and resource allocation with strategic objectives and the drivers of shareholder and stakeholder value.

  • Reviews professional values and ethical judgment in all aspects of work.

  • Oversees key client reviews to assure service and stakeholder satisfaction.

Consulting Process & Tools: Knowledge of consulting process; ability to engage in planning sales conducting research and analysis finding solutions and preparing recommendations.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Effectively manages projects ensuring objectives deadlines budgets are met by team members.

  • Works with client to determine handover process to ensure skills transfer sustainability of results and appropriate knowledge capture.

  • Monitors and measures client satisfaction ensuring quality of own deliverables and those of team.

  • Applies knowledge tools and technical expertise as evidenced by the creation of noted value to clients that is tailored to their specific needs.

  • Selects and uses appropriate diagnostic tools methods and techniques and actively seeks out new and appropriate tools.

  • Identifies quantifies and manages issues impacting on project delivery.
