As a Commissioning Instrument Supervisor (CIS) you will be responsible for planning supervising and executing all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities related to instrumentation systems. He ensures all works are performed in compliance with quality standards health safety and environmental (HSE) regulations and project procedures with the support of Instrumentation Specialists under his supervision.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare detailed pre-commissioning and functional test procedures for instrumentation systems and packages as directed by the Commissioning Instrument Superintendent.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of Instrumentation Specialists (CIA CLC).
- Manage field operations performed by subcontractor instrumentation teams.
- Enforce the application of plant safety procedures especially during emergency situations.
- Conduct field inspections based on DAC (Discipline Acceptance Criteria).
- Prepare and maintain the instrumentation commissioning punch list in coordination with CME.
- Ensure compliance with commissioning procedures project specifications and safety regulations.
- Support and coordinate vendor specialists during commissioning activities.
- Supervise and optimize the performance of vendor personnel involved in instrumentation tasks.
- Act as an authorized person to receive or issue Permits To Work in accordance with project PTW procedures.
- Ensure all activities are properly documented and witnessed by the Client.
- Prepare and sign off relevant commissioning certificates for submission to the Certification Engineer.
- Maintain a comprehensive logbook of daily activities and commissioning progress.
- Expedite the resolution of pending punch list items following priorities set by the Commissioning Manager (CMM).
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety rules and environmental protection measures.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality awareness within the team.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Engineering Electronics or related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation commissioning on large-scale industrial or oil & gas projects.
- In-depth understanding of instrumentation systems loop checks functional testing and control systems.
- Proficient in interpreting P&IDs loop diagrams and control system logic.
- Familiarity with PTW systems industry codes and safety protocols.
- Strong supervisory coordination and reporting skills.
