Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual who is eager to contribute to patient care through meaningful interaction and data collection.
You will be a detail-oriented Healthcare Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role you will play a vital part in enhancing patient care by conducting health-related questionnaires with patients collecting essential data to support our clinical staff and contributing to the overall patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
- Conduct face-to-face interviews with patients to complete health-related questionnaires.
- Ask patients a series of pre-determined questions related to their health lifestyle and medical history.
- Ensure that patients understand the purpose of the questionnaire and answer questions with accuracy and honesty.
Data Collection and Recording:
- Accurately record patient responses in the electronic health records (EHR) system or designated database.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
- Ensure all required questions are asked and that the data collected is complete and accurate.
Collaboration with Clinical Staff:
- Work closely with nurses physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure that the data collected is available for patient care planning.
- Identify and report any immediate health concerns that arise during the questionnaire process to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of questionnaires and educational materials to patients.
Administrative Support:
- Provide support in other areas of the clinic or hospital as required by nursing staff.
Understands follows and supports all hospital infection control programs
RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
- Healthcare Assistant certificate and/or KHDA
- Nursing Assistant certificate a plus
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting particularly in patient-facing roles is preferred. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact empathetically with patients. Fluent English is a must
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and recording. Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team. Basic computer skills and familiarity with healthcare documentation
