Job Description

Job Summary:

Engineering Storekeeper isresponsible for the efficient operation of the engineering store by overseeing the receipt storage issuance and documentation of engineering materials and equipment. They ensure that the store operates smoothly to meet the needs of engineering projects and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of all materials tools and equipment in the store.
    • Define and keep optimising on ROQ and ROP
    • Ensure service level up to desired levels while controlling inventory value
    • Monitor stock levels and reorder items to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure accuracy.
    • Maintain a log of all issued items and track usage patterns.

  1. Receiving and Issuing Materials:
    • Receive and inspect incoming materials ensuring they match purchase orders and are in good condition.
    • Issue materials and tools to maintenance personnel as requested.
    • Ensure the proper storage of materials to prevent damage and deterioration.

  1. Organization and Storage:
    • Keep the store area clean organized and easily accessible.
    • Label and categorize materials to allow easy identification.
    • Maintain a safe and orderly environment by adhering to safety standards.

  1. Coordination and Communication:
    • Coordinate with the maintenance team to determine the necessary parts and tools for repairs and projects.
    • Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to supply shortages or quality.
    • Provide maintenance teams with the required tools and materials in a timely manner to avoid delays in operations.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of receipts issues and stock levels.
    • Generate reports on inventory usage and material costs to help with budgeting and planning.
    • Report any discrepancies or issues with inventory to the relevant supervisors.

  1. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that safety standards are met for storing hazardous materials or items that require special handling.
    • Follow health and safety regulations to prevent accidents or misuse of materials.
    • Properly dispose of expired or unusable materials following company guidelines.

  1. Support in Maintenance Operations:
    • Assist in identifying the need for new tools materials and equipment.
    • Support the maintenance team in fulfilling any additional logistical needs during projects.
    • Ensure compliance to IFOS in attendance and documenting OT

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualifications:
    • Associate or bachelors degree in mechanical engineering Electrical Engineering Maintenance Management or a related field (preferred).
    • Proven experience as a Storekeeper Warehouse Clerk or similar role.
    • Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for coordinating between mechanical and electrical teams.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Team player with the ability to work independently.
    • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience:
    • Experience: storing issuing and receiving materials and supplies applying purchasing procedures applying inventory control methods operating material handling equipment entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system
  • Skills:
    • Inventory management.

    • Supplier coordination
    • Health and safety compliance

    • Knowledge of MS Excel & MS Office / Limble is advantage
    • Knowledge of SAP/Fiori SAP Ariba is advantage

Working Conditions:

  • The role may involve working in an office environment within a manufacturing or industrial facility.
  • Regular visits to the plant floor or field may be required exposing the planner to noise heat machinery and electrical equipment.
  • Occasional extended hours or oncall duties may be required particularly during outages or critical system failures.

  • Maintenance Manager
