Job Description

Managing Property Operations and Engineering Budgets

 

      1. Supervises the complete Engineering team.
      2. Manages the physical plant including equipment refrigeration HVAC plumbing water treatment electrical and life safety systems.
      3. Maintains and operates equipment at optimum effectiveness efficiency and safety.
      4. Establishes and manages an effective rooms maintenance program.
      5. Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies standards and procedures.
      6. Manages departments controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
      7. Select and order or purchase new equipment supplies and furnishings.
      8. Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required.
      9. Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting repair work renovations and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
      10. Supervises the day to day operations of Engineering.

 

Maintaining Property Standards

 

      1. Maintains accurate logs and records as required.
      2. Assists in effectively planning scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.

 

Providing Exceptional Customer Service

 

      1. Handles guest problems and complaints effectively.
      2. Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
      3. Displays leadership in guest hospitality by exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.

 

 

 

Managing Profitability

 

      1. Helps establish priorities for total property maintenance needs.
      2. Ensures ongoing communication occurs in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives awareness of expectations and recognition of exemplary performance.

 

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities

 

      1. Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
      2. Establishes and maintains open collaborative relationships with employees.
      3. Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably.
      4. Strives to improve service performance.
      5. Provides feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviours.
      6. Supervises employees ability to execute departmental and property emergency procedures.
      7. Reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
      8. Solicits employee feedback.
      9. Helps ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
      10. Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support the appraisal process.
      11. Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently.

 

General/ Miscellenious

 

      1. Ensures all staff is thoroughly familiar with the hotels emergency procedures and in a state of preparedness for any emergency which may occur.
      2. of regular technical/skills training. Is responsible for setting up and maintaining ongoing training programs in the Engineering division in conjunction with the Director of HR & the Training Manager.
      3. Initiates Fire Fighting Training in coordination with the Security Manager and the local authorities (Fire Brigade) on a regular basis for all Hotel departments.
      4. Maintains a monthly overview of vacation and public holiday balance of all his/her staff and delivers a monthly consolidated summary to the Director of HR.
      5. Is familiar with all related company documentation and especially with the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
      6. Other duties as assigned.
      7. Assist in Task Force Teams for new openings.
      8. Carry out any other reasonable task (which may not be stated here) as requested

 


Qualifications :

Education: Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role.

Other: Computer skills and good communication skills
