Job Description:
The Plant Engineering Coordinator works closely with the Project Engineer to ensure smooth day-to-day project progress, assess plant access, and evaluate its impact on operations. This role involves conducting engineering analysis, developing recommendations, and implementing strategies to enhance plant efficiency, reliability, safety, environmental compliance, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with operations and maintenance teams to continuously identify, develop, and implement plant improvements.
- Consults technical handbooks and tables during the drafting phase of projects.
- Prepares engineering drawings, detailing plans, and specifications for various projects.
- Assists engineering and project management teams with daily project functions, including researching product or equipment specifications, contacting vendors, and providing necessary support.
- Ensures that all designs are compliant with industry standards and building regulations.
- Identifies and communicates potential design issues to the engineering team and works on resolving them.
- Performs calculations for materials, weight limitations, and other technical aspects of the project.
- Coordinates with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to incorporate knowledge into drawings and project plans.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of AutoCAD experience (Proficiency in AutoCAD 2014 or newer version).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and industry best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- AutoCAD training (2-year Associate degree in Drafting Technology or equivalent).
- Expertise in following specifications and calculations to create detailed technical drawings.
- Skilled in preparing rough sketches and detailed work using CADD systems.
- Experience in preparing, reviewing, and redrafting technical drawings in collaboration with engineering teams.
