Roles and responsibilities
Assist the Senior Internal Audit Manager in developing and executing the IA Plan, taking the lead in executing and supervising the day-to-day fieldwork. To contribute to the function by identifying risks associated with business objectives and to evaluate controls to mitigate those risks to improve the effectiveness of the Governance, Risk Management and Control processes. The role will operate primarily through the conduct of Internal Audit reviews in accordance with the Internal Audit Plan. Assist ad-hoc projects, investigations, incidents, and fraud reviews as required.
Strategic
RESPONSIBILITIES
- IA Annual Plan - ownership and personal management of the portion of the annual plan allocated by the SIAM.
- Audit Scheduling, Planning audit review activity, Planning Memorandum preparation.
- Audit Planning Briefing Sessions with SIAM as required.
Operational
- Manage resources on-site audits to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
- Review audit documentation prepared by audit team members to ensure the accuracy and validity of the information.
- Provide guidance and feedback to internal audit specialists.
- Develop a full audit/review plan, testing sample generation, and audit program.
- Work with the audit team in executing the audit test design, identifying process gaps, and providing recommendations to resolve the issues.
- Review financial statements, documentation, and internal controls to identify any discrepancies or irregularities.
- Prepare draft Planning Memorandum.
- Engage with the GMs, Financial Controllers, Senior Managers, and other key stakeholders on a review-by-review basis.
- Prepare the audit file.
- Issue a draft findings pack to the auditees and subsequently for SIAM review.
- Address senior internal audit manager comments and adhere to the internal audit manual and clearly represent the issues.
- Complete a feedback and issue resolution meeting.
- Assist SIAM in coaching and developing other team members as required.
- Prepare overall assessment/opinion and support.
- Pass QA for reporting.
- Follow up action plan closure.
- Manage personal CPD for relevant professional Institute.

- Agree on a full action plan to address shortcomings, gaps, weaknesses, non-compliance, and good practice.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience out of which 3 years internal audit.
- UAE experience - at least 3 years.
Desired candidate profile
- Experience of complex audits in a corporate environment, knowledge and experience in business cycles and more tailored commercial reviews.
- Information Systems Audit experience and use of related IT audit tools and techniques.
- Clear and professional communicator, both written and verbally, good attention to detail.
- Problem solving and recommendation creativity, good verbal and report writing skills in English Interviews and walkthroughs to hinh documentation standards building tailored audit nrogrammes.

- Internal Controls: A deep understanding of internal controls, including segregation of duties, authorization procedures, and fraud prevention measures.
- Control Testing: Evaluating the design and effectiveness of internal controls and recommending improvements to mitigate risks.
- Control Frameworks: Familiarity with widely-used control frameworks such as COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) and COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies).

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that the organization complies with industry-specific laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., SOX compliance, FCPA, anti-money laundering).
- Governance: Assessing corporate governance practices and ensuring the organization adheres to ethical guidelines, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Legal and Tax Compliance: Understanding tax laws, financial regulations, and legal frameworks that apply to the organization and ensuring compliance.

- Data Analytics: Using data analysis techniques and audit software to analyze large sets of financial and operational data, identify patterns, and detect anomalies.
- Audit Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of audit procedures, findings, and evidence to support audit conclusions.
- Report Writing: Preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive audit reports for senior management and stakeholders, outlining findings, risks, and recommendations for corrective actions.
