Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Complete service and maintenance operations such as oil change, tyre services (replacement, balancing, puncture repair), brake replacement, servicing, basic diagnostics and air conditioning re-gas, on all makes and models of car and light commercial (LCV) as per company/manufacturer standards. Role is responsible for contributing to the business’s revenue and customer satisfaction.

What you will do:

Job execution

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on all passenger car and light commercial vehicles
  • Complete and maintain check sheets and vehicle write ups on the repair order
  • Report additional work required on vehicles after completing an EVHC
  • Provide Estimations of repairs & services to customer
  • Use a range of technology to complete basic diagnostic checks and electronic inspections

Tools, Equipment and Work Vehicle

  • Upkeep tools and equipment in the individual company vehicle as per company standards
  • Proper handling of special tools.
  • Housekeeping to be maintained at place of work / area of operation
  • Usage of special service tools including Intelligent Testers and Scan tools
  • Manage parts inventory on vehicle and returns of unused parts
  • Manage personal and working environment Health and safety – ensuring safe working practices maintained
  • Environmental control of dangerous substances such as oil and brake fluid

Fix it Right First Time

  • Ensure zero repeat repairs
  • Proper diagnosis and trouble shooting
  • Conduct final inspection and quality testing of vehicles
  • Achieve high level of customer satisfaction and advocacy

Productivity and Efficiency

  • Deliver the desired efficiency and productivity as per targets given.
  • Manage time on job to ensure the days scheduled work will be completed
  • Time management and punctuality at each job

Desired candidate profile

1. Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of the systems, tools, machinery, or equipment specific to the industry they work in (e.g., IT systems, medical devices, machinery in manufacturing, or automotive systems).
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintenance and Repair Skills: Proficiency in performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on various types of equipment or systems.

2. Leadership and Supervision:

  • Team Leadership: Leading a group of technicians, guiding them in daily tasks, and ensuring they meet performance expectations.
  • Mentoring and Training: Providing technical training and support to junior technicians, improving team skills and knowledge.
  • Delegation: Effectively assigning tasks to team members based on their skill level, availability, and priorities.

3. Communication Skills:

  • Clear Instructions: Giving clear and concise directions to team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as engineering, maintenance, or production, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Reporting: Communicating updates, issues, and progress to management or clients through regular reports or meetings.

4. Project Management:

  • Planning and Coordination: Organizing schedules, managing workflows, and ensuring that projects or tasks are completed on time.
  • Resource Management: Ensuring that materials, tools, and personnel are properly allocated to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Monitoring Work Progress: Keeping track of the team's progress and ensuring that goals are being met within deadlines.

5. Quality Control:

  • Ensuring Standards: Ensuring that all technical work meets the company’s quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Inspection and Testing: Overseeing inspections and testing of equipment or systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.

6. Safety and Compliance:

  • Safety Standards: Promoting a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and ensuring compliance with workplace safety protocols.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry regulations (e.g., OSHA in the U.S.) and ensuring that work adheres to these standards.
