AtkinsRalis is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Technical Director for our MEP division. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge proven leadership skills and a strong background in business development and winning work. This role requires a dynamic individual with at least 15 years of postgraduate experience in leading multidisciplinary MEP teams. This role is a strategic hire with the intent of form a solid succession plan where progression to Regional Leadership is expected within the next 3 year business cycle if not sooner.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic vision for the MEP department.
Be instrumental in the alignment of departmental goals with the overall business strategy.
Support the fostering of a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Technical Expertise:
Demonstrable track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within the MEP industry
Provide technical guidance and oversight on MEP projects while ensuring the highest standards of technical quality and compliance with industry regulations.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in MEP technologies and practices.
Apply technical knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions.
Business Development:
Develop skills in the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities to expand the MEP portfolio.
With the team share leadership in the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Project Management:
Oversee the successful delivery of MEP projects from inception to completion.
Manage project budgets timelines and resources effectively.
Commercial awareness with an understanding and ability to administer Change Control.
Ensure client satisfaction and project profitability.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of MEP engineers and designers.
Promote professional development and continuous learning within the team.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a Building Services Mechanical Electrical or related engineering field. A Masters degree and/or Chartered Status is preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of postgraduate experience in MEP engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
A growing track record in business development and winning work.
Ademonstrable understanding of all MEP and related building services design processes.
Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems and industry standards.
Recognition and understanding of related engineering and architectural disciplines with a demonstrable skill in multidisciplinary coordination.
Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and inspire a diverse multidisciplinary MEP team.
The ability to think laterally and possess a sound understanding of engineering principles with the ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
The ability to build and develop relationships both internally and externally.
