Position Summary and Purpose
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment in the production facility. This includes performing preventive maintenance troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime and enhance productivity. The role requires close coordination with production quality and safety teams to maintain compliance with operational standards.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Maintenance and Repair
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery tools and equipment to minimize breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic issues to ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct emergency repairs and coordinate with external service providers when necessary.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
2. Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding machine maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update logs as per regulatory and company requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and report them to management.
3. Inventory and Spare Parts Management
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability when needed.
- Work with procurement to source highquality and costeffective spare parts and tools.
- Ensure proper documentation of spare parts usage and replenishment planning.
4. Process Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Recommend and implement maintenance best practices to reduce operational costs.
- Stay updated with new technologies and maintenance strategies to enhance machine performance.
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical Electrical or Industrial Maintenance.
- Additional certifications in PLC programming welding or automation are an advantage.
Experience:
- 35 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the plastic manufacturing industry is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals schematics and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
- Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with crossfunctional teams.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Regular standing lifting and moving equipment may be required.
- Exposure to loud machinery and industrial environments.
