Job Description

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done.  Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business their guests and their colleagues.   Within this the key responsibilities for this position are:

 

  • Ensure quality standard of issuance and maintenance of linen and uniforms of the entire hotel in accordance with the Anantara standards so as to achieve highest guest and associate satisfaction.
  • Maintain the procedure for issuance of clean and collection of dirty linen for the guest rooms and other areas of the hotel /uniform to all uniformed associates and washing through Laundry Department/ Outside Laundry. Check the standard of washing and pressing of linen /uniforms.
  • Ensure no worn out torn stained or substandard linen or uniforms are issued for use in the guest rooms / by the associates.
  • Ensure safe storage conditions for the linen and uniforms so as to ensure security of hotel assets. No unauthorized person is to be issued with linen or uniform.
  • Maintain a written control in respect to linen and uniforms shortages discards yearly requirement purchasing storage issue and use.
  • Arrange stitching repair mending and hemming of upholstery curtains linen uniforms or any type of item made of fabric lying in any area of the hotel. Major repairs should be immediately brought to the notice of the Linen Supervisor.
  • Issue new or repairing material and replenish items if required.
  • Ensure that all equipment and sorting area are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Ensure immediate action on guests and associates complaints both to the satisfaction of the guests / associates and the protection of the Hotel interests. Adopt remedial measures and corrective action wherever necessary. Keep Linen Supervisor informed of any serious complaints. 
  • Deposit all articles found from the soil linen and the hotel premises in the Lost & Found Section in Housekeeping Department.
  • Report any discrepancy loss or damage to property to the Linen Supervisor.
  • Perform all such functions as may be incidental or ancillary to the above functions.
  • Perform any other function as may be assigned by the management.
  • Provide necessary feedback on all important activities to the Linen Supervisor.
  • Abide by the policies rules and regulations of the Hotel on various issues / matters and Local Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Check personal hygiene and be well groomed in appearance by wearing a smart clean and tidy dress with a name tag.
  • Maintain a professional image and be friendly and cheerful under all circumstances.

Qualifications :

At least one year in laundry operations or housekeeping
Good English communication skills
Good customer service and interpersonal skills
Eye for detail
