Job Description
We are looking for a responsible and caring Bus Attendant to ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers during transit. The successful candidate will assist passengers boarding and exiting the bus maintain orderliness and ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist passengers especially children the elderly or those with special needs while boarding and alighting from the bus.
- Ensure that all passengers are seated and secured properly before the bus departs.
- Maintain order and enforce safety regulations during transit.
- Support the bus driver by communicating about passenger needs or emergencies.
- Provide assistance in case of emergencies including evacuations or first aid.
- Monitor passenger behavior to prevent disturbances or unsafe activities.
- Report any incidents or safety concerns to the bus driver or supervisor promptly.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the bus interior.
- Maintain accurate attendance or passenger records as required.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of safety and emergency procedures.
- Good communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages (e.g. Arabic Hindi Tagalog) is a plus.
- A caring and patient demeanor especially when working with children or individuals with special needs.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Physically fit to assist passengers and manage emergency situations.
