Roles and responsibilities
1. Knowledge of Auto Body Repair Techniques
- Dent Removal: Skill in using various techniques to remove dents, including paintless dent repair (PDR), traditional body filler applications, and panel replacement.
- Metal Shaping: Ability to reshape metal panels and surfaces back to their original form using specialized tools like hammers, dollies, and pneumatic machines.
- Panel Replacement: Expertise in removing and replacing damaged panels, such as fenders, bumpers, and doors, while ensuring the fit and finish meet manufacturer standards.
2. Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)
- PDR Skills: Proficiency in using specialized tools to massage and manipulate dents out of the vehicle's metal without damaging the paint, maintaining the original finish.
- Knowledge of Vehicle Types: Understanding how to assess the suitability of PDR for different types of vehicles and dents.
3. Repairing Cosmetic Damage
- Bumper Repair: Expertise in repairing or replacing damaged bumpers, often involving the use of fillers, sanding, and refinishing.
- Scratch and Scuff Removal: Knowledge of how to smooth out or fill in minor scratches, scuffs, or gouges in the vehicle’s body panels.
- Windshield and Glass Damage: Ability to assess and repair minor cracks in glass or install replacement windows when needed.
4. Welding and Metal Work
- Welding Skills: Skill in using welding equipment to repair or replace metal parts, including spot welding, MIG welding, and TIG welding techniques.
- Structural Repairs: Understanding how to repair or replace structural elements of a vehicle, such as the frame, chassis, or support beams.
5. Surface Preparation and Painting
- Sanding and Priming: Knowledge of preparing the repaired surfaces, sanding down imperfections, and applying primer before painting.
- Spray Painting: Experience with spray guns, ensuring an even, high-quality finish that matches the original vehicle color.
- Clear Coat Application: Ability to apply clear coats to finished paint jobs for durability and a glossy appearance.
6. Attention to Detail
- Precision in Repairs: Ensuring that all repairs are precise, with no signs of filler or uneven surfaces after finishing.
- Matching Paint Colors: Skill in color-matching paint for seamless blends between original and repaired areas.
7. Safety Awareness
- Handling Tools and Equipment Safely: Knowledge of how to properly use and maintain tools like hammers, grinders, sanders, and welding equipment.
- Chemical Safety: Familiarity with the safe use of chemicals, such as paints, solvents, and fillers, and ensuring proper ventilation and protective equipment are used.
- Protective Gear: Understanding the need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, goggles, face shields, and respirators, when necessary.

- Skills
- Minimum Qualification - S.S.C./Trade Certificate/Vocational Training.
- Able to perform accurate diagnosis and repair procedures
- Knowledge in arc and gas welding is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Working knowledge of English in writing & speaking

- Obtaining technical information from the Body Shop Adhering strictly to technical specifications
- Hammering out minor body damage including dents and dimples.
- Welding, attaching and fitting parts into place.
- Filing, grinding, sanding and smoothening filled or repaired surfaces.
