Roles and responsibilities
- Identification and compliance with applicable international standards and best practice.
- Development & sign-off of local standards and guidelines as required.
- Ensuring that the technical content of procedures and guidelines are up to date and technically sound.
- Collaborate with QA/QC departments to set up sound standards such as ITPs and RoS checklists for the manufacturing, installation and commissioning stages of new projects of respective technology.
- Ensuring best maintenance practices are applied in all wind projects towards best plants’ performance
Risk Identification and Mitigation
- Ensure asset specific risks are identified and mitigated to ensure safe and reliable operation of assets.
- Approve key engineering changes to critical assets to ensure design integrity.
- Identify vendors with equipment causing continued reliability issues
- Provide technical support in RCAs led by Business areas engineering, to the extent required.
- Jointly participate in QA/QC inspections and follow ups during project early stages to the extent required to ensure assets reliability and integrity during operation.
- Report quality in all maintenance activities and provide guidance to continuously and effectively improve it.
Engineering Support
- Design review and review of equipment technical specifications for both, Wind turbine Generators and Electrical BoPs.
- Must leverage industry experience, equipment knowledge, software know-how, to support world class predictive analytics and monitoring solutions.
- Participate, when appropriate, and contribute to near miss investigations by providing the technical expertise in the discipline.
- Identifying long term solutions for assigned tasks related to reliability issues that are deemed safety critical / urgent / high value to key stakeholders.
- Participate in the relevant network groups and provide guidance on Best Practices. Ensure REX/lessons learned are implemented.
- Attend asset specific international conferences.
- Provide guidance, mentoring and training on the wind technologies installed covering all maintenance activities, particularly in troubleshooting towards best efficiency and WTGs availability.
- Ensure Lessons learned and best practices are shared across Wind fleet.
- Be 2nd level support for troubleshooting activities towards shortest mean times to repair.
Projects
- Review and validate Vendor/OEM Listing for new projects.
- Be responsible for providing technical approval for asset specific plant or process changes / modification.
- Be responsible for review and approval of Safety System Changes within their discipline.
Desired candidate profile
- University degree in Engineering discipline. Master's degree is a plus.
- Vast knowledge and experience in maintenance of clean energy assets, preferably wind.
Required Skills
- Technical knowledge on Vestas and/ or Envision technologies, with strong practical hands on experience as service technician. Strong motivation and ability to transfer knowledge and experience as technical trainer.. Detailed knowledge and excellent understanding of: Power generation O&M, Asset Lifecycle Management.
- World class knowledge of asset specific design, construction, operation and failure modes.
- Motivation to learn extensively technology of main Chinese Wind Turbine Generator manufacturers.
- Technical knowledge and experience in Electrical BoPs is preferable.
- Motivation to work by technical assignments/ campaigns with specific targets across the Wind fleet
- Willingness to travel frequently with potential temporary relocation as per the assignment requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proficient in English communication– verbal and written.
