An IT Intern is typically a student or recent graduate who is gaining practical experience in the field of information technology (IT). This internship helps them apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world work environment while learning about various aspects of IT infrastructure, systems, and support. IT interns often work under the supervision of senior IT professionals and contribute to a wide range of tasks, from troubleshooting technical issues to assisting with software deployment and network management.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their data visualization needs and requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into Power BI.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all dashboards and reports.
- Assist in the optimization and performance tuning of Power BI reports.
- Provide training and support to end-users on how to use and interpret Power BI dashboards.
- Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and best practices
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI and its various components (Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service).
- Experience with data visualization and creating interactive dashboards.
- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

1. Technical Support and Troubleshooting
- Helpdesk support: Assisting end-users with technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving common IT issues, such as connectivity problems, software bugs, and hardware malfunctions.
- Remote support: Providing assistance to remote employees or users by diagnosing and resolving technical issues through remote desktop tools or phone calls.
- System maintenance: Helping with routine system checks, software updates, and hardware maintenance.
2. Hardware and Software Installation
- Hardware setup: Assisting with the installation and setup of computer equipment, printers, peripherals, and other IT infrastructure.
- Software installation: Supporting the installation, configuration, and setup of software applications, ensuring that the software is functioning correctly.
- System upgrades: Assisting with system upgrades or patching, ensuring that operating systems and applications are up to date.
- Asset tracking: Keeping inventory of hardware, software, and licenses to ensure the company’s assets are properly managed.
3. Network Support
- Network troubleshooting: Identifying issues with local area networks (LAN), wireless networks, and internet connections, and resolving basic connectivity issues.
- Wi-Fi setup: Assisting with the setup and configuration of Wi-Fi networks, ensuring stable and secure connections.
- Network monitoring: Helping to monitor network traffic and performance to ensure optimal functionality and address potential issues.
- VPN and remote access: Assisting with the setup and troubleshooting of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and other remote access tools.
4. Security Awareness
- Antivirus software: Assisting with the installation and updating of antivirus programs to protect against malware, spyware, and other cyber threats.
- Password management: Helping users with password resets, account lockouts, and enforcing password policies for security.
- Data protection: Assisting in securing sensitive data, backing up important files, and ensuring that best practices for data privacy are followed.
5. System Administration Assistance
- User account management: Helping with the creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts, including managing permissions and access rights.
- Access control: Assisting in managing system access for employees, ensuring users only have access to the resources they need.
- Backup support: Assisting with the backup and restoration of data, ensuring that regular backups are completed to safeguard against data loss.
