Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Distributes the manpower based on the site engineer instruction
  • Control and monitor the materials and tools received from the project store
  • Coordinates with other activities in the project.
  • Control and monitor project execution team for the right productivity
  • Plans the requirements of material and communicate to the Site Engineer.
  • Ensures the quality of workmanship
  • Ensures the control for less material waste and the skilled/semi-skilled time waste
  • Ensures the follow up of all HSE rules and measures
  • Control & monitor the work progress at site as per project time frame.
  • Handles the Testing & Commissioning of the project systems.

Requirements

  • Diploma in either Mechanical or Electrical
  • Minimum of 6 – 10 years of relevant experience
  • Language – English
  • Project Oversight:

    • Managing Site Operations: Overseeing daily activities on the work site, ensuring that tasks are carried out as planned and project schedules are adhered to.
    • Task Coordination: Assigning tasks to workers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring that everyone understands their duties and deadlines.
    • Monitoring Work Progress: Tracking the progress of the project and ensuring that milestones are met according to timelines.
  • Team Supervision:

    • Managing Personnel: Supervising workers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure work is carried out efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications.
    • Motivating the Team: Ensuring that the team stays focused and motivated throughout the project, addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.
    • Training and Development: Providing guidance and training to less experienced workers or new team members, ensuring they understand safety protocols and work procedures.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:

    • Ensuring Safety Standards: Enforcing health and safety regulations and ensuring all workers are wearing the necessary protective gear and adhering to safety protocols.
    • Conducting Safety Inspections: Performing regular safety checks on equipment and work areas to prevent accidents and identify potential hazards.
    • Reporting Incidents: Reporting any accidents or safety violations to higher management and documenting them for future reference.
  • Quality Control:

    • Ensuring Work Quality: Ensuring that all work is completed to the required quality standards, as specified in project plans or contracts.
    • Conducting Inspections: Inspecting work as it progresses, identifying and resolving any issues related to quality, and ensuring that work meets the necessary standards.
    • Problem-Solving: Identifying potential problems on-site (such as technical or logistical issues) and finding solutions to ensure that work proceeds without delay.
  • Resource and Equipment Management:

    • Managing Resources: Overseeing the use of materials, tools, and equipment on-site, ensuring that they are available, properly maintained, and used efficiently.
    • Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels of materials and supplies, coordinating with procurement or inventory teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to the site.
    • Maintaining Equipment: Ensuring that all tools and machinery are in good working condition and arranging for maintenance or repair when necessary.
  • Communication and Reporting:

    • Liaising with Stakeholders: Acting as the main point of contact between the on-site team, project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure effective communication.
    • Reporting Progress: Keeping detailed records of project progress, delays, incidents, and worker performance, and providing regular updates to project managers and clients.
    • Managing Documentation: Ensuring that all necessary documentation, such as permits, inspections, and compliance reports, is completed and maintained.
  • Problem Resolution:

    • Handling Issues on Site: Managing any issues that arise on the work site, such as delays, disputes, or material shortages, and resolving them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
    • Managing Conflicts: Addressing conflicts between workers, contractors, or subcontractors in a professional manner to maintain a positive working environment.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with different stakeholders, report progress, and provide clear instructions to the team.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and keep the project on schedule, even when faced with unforeseen delays or challenges.

    • Well-organized in managing tasks, resources, documentation, and schedules, ensuring that everything runs smoothly on-site.

    • In-depth knowledge of safety standards and the ability to implement safety practices and protocols on-site to ensure the well-being of all workers.

    • Skills in managing disputes or conflicts on-site and negotiating solutions that satisfy all parties involved.

  3. Scheduling Tools:

    • Tools like Microsoft Project or Trello to schedule work tasks, allocate resources, and track project milestones.
