Roles and responsibilities

• Drives and delivers required stock to clients/ showrooms to and from specified destinations within the UAE to ensure delivery punctuality and safety, as per the instruction of Warehouse Manager / Supervisor following all safety regulations and precautions.
• Inspects and maintains vehicle cleanliness, supplies, and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes and reports any maintenance problems to the line manager to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
• Ensures the delivery documents are signed by customers and collects approved customer returns and reports to line manager.
• To drive a vehicle as per Govt Rules & Regulations to avoid fines and penalty.
• To adhere to the Group Vehicle Policy to utilize the asset in most effective ways.
• To perform timely vehicle maintenance and regular service to avoid breakdown.
• Performs other relative duties assigned by his line manager.
  

Requirements

• High School: 12 years of schooling
• Minimum 3 -5 years of Total work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of Related work experience.
• Valid appropriate Vehicles category Driving License
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to work in all types of weather
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
• Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
• Bilingual, Spoken and Written good proficiency (English preferred)
• Good communication skills
• Team Player
• Customer oriented
• Ability to lift objects
• Ability to work long hours as needed
• Drives truck in a safe manner

Desired candidate profile

• Vehicle Operation:

  • Driving Heavy Vehicles: Operating trucks, lorries, buses, or construction vehicles in compliance with road safety laws and regulations.
  • Route Planning: Planning routes and adjusting travel plans based on road conditions, traffic, delivery schedules, and weather.
  • Transporting Goods/Passengers: Ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods or transportation of passengers to their destinations.
  • Load Handling: Ensuring that the cargo is loaded and unloaded safely, including securing the load to prevent shifting during transit.

• Vehicle Maintenance and Safety Checks:

  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Conducting thorough inspections of the vehicle before starting a journey, checking the condition of tires, brakes, lights, engine, fuel levels, and other essential components.
  • Routine Maintenance: Performing basic vehicle maintenance, such as oil changes, checking tire pressure, and ensuring proper functioning of brakes and lights.
  • Reporting Mechanical Issues: Reporting any vehicle malfunctions or damage to supervisors or maintenance staff for further repairs.
  • Cleaning: Keeping the vehicle clean and maintaining its interior and exterior, ensuring it is presentable and functional.

• Compliance with Regulations:

  • Adherence to Legal Requirements: Complying with all traffic laws, weight limits, driving hours, and safety standards. This includes adhering to regulations regarding the maximum allowable weight, driving time, rest breaks, and other legal constraints.
  • Document Handling: Completing and maintaining accurate records, including delivery forms, manifests, inspection reports, fuel logs, and other transportation documents.
  • Tachograph Usage: Using a tachograph (a device that records driving time, speed, and distance) to ensure compliance with regulations on working hours and rest periods.

• Safety and Defensive Driving:

  • Safe Driving Practices: Practicing defensive driving techniques to avoid accidents, handling difficult driving conditions (e.g., adverse weather, night driving), and ensuring the safety of other road users.
  • Load Security: Ensuring the cargo is securely loaded, using appropriate equipment to prevent movement and ensuring the vehicle’s stability.
  • Emergency Situations: Being prepared to handle emergency situations, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or weather-related challenges, in a calm and effective manner.

• Customer Service:

  • Delivery and Pickup: Interacting with clients, customers, or supervisors to pick up and deliver goods on time, following instructions and special requests.
  • Professionalism: Maintaining a professional attitude when dealing with clients, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders, and representing the company in a positive manner.
  • Handling Delivery Issues: Resolving any issues or discrepancies with deliveries, such as incorrect goods or delays, and communicating them to the relevant personnel.
