Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Shooting and documenting events, activities and media participations and coverage, and other activities like conferences and meetings and official visits.
  • Shooting videos professionally.
  • Editing video clips and adding visual and audio effects to enhance the quality of the video.
  • Smooth transitions between clips
  • Improving the quality of sound like reducing the noise or adjusting the sound level.
  • Adding music and sound effects to enhance the quality of the video
  • Exporting video in different ways that matches with the institutional identity of public prosecution.
  • Capture High-Quality Images:

    • Composition: Using the principles of composition (rule of thirds, leading lines, symmetry, etc.) to create visually appealing images.
    • Lighting Techniques: Understanding and utilizing natural and artificial light to enhance the subject and mood of the photo.
    • Camera Settings: Adjusting settings such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance to achieve the desired image quality.
  • Photo Editing and Post-Processing:

    • Editing Software: Using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or Capture One to edit and enhance images, adjust colors, remove imperfections, and fine-tune details.
    • Retouching: Refining images by removing blemishes, correcting lighting, and making overall improvements.
    • Image Organization: Organizing and archiving images in a systematic manner for easy access and retrieval.
  • Client Interaction and Consultation:

    • Understanding Client Needs: Meeting with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and vision for the shoot.
    • Providing Guidance: Offering direction to clients or subjects during shoots, helping them feel comfortable, and ensuring they are positioned well for optimal results.
    • Project Management: Managing timelines, coordinating logistics (locations, props, models), and ensuring that the shoot is executed according to plan.
  • Photo Shoot Planning and Preparation:

    • Location Scouting: Identifying and selecting suitable locations for shoots based on the client’s brief or project goals.
    • Equipment Setup: Preparing and testing the necessary equipment (cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, reflectors, etc.) before the shoot.
    • Props and Styling: Coordinating props, backgrounds, and styling to match the theme or concept of the shoot.
  • Specialized Photography:

    • Portrait Photography: Capturing individual or group portraits, often requiring skillful lighting and posing techniques to achieve the best representation of the subject.
    • Product Photography: Taking high-quality images of products for commercial purposes, including e-commerce listings, advertisements, and catalogs.
    • Event Photography: Documenting events such as weddings, corporate functions, or parties, capturing key moments and emotions.
    • Fashion Photography: Shooting models and fashion items for advertising, magazines, or runway events, focusing on clothing, makeup, and styling.
    • Nature and Wildlife Photography: Capturing images of animals and natural landscapes in their natural environment.
    • Documentary and Photojournalism: Telling stories through photos, often used in news, magazines, or for social causes.
  • Marketing and Portfolio Development:

    • Building a Portfolio: Creating and maintaining a portfolio that showcases a range of work to attract potential clients.
    • Online Presence: Using websites, social media platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), and photography networks to showcase work, attract new clients, and engage with followers.
    • Networking: Attending industry events, workshops, and exhibitions to meet potential clients, collaborators, and other photographers.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Upkeep:

    • Camera Equipment: Ensuring all camera equipment (e.g., lenses, tripods, flashes, memory cards) is in good working order.
    • Upgrading Gear: Keeping up with new technology, trends, and advancements in photography equipment and software.

Desired candidate profile

  1. Technical Expertise:

    • Strong understanding of camera functions, lens types, exposure settings, and other photography equipment.
    • Knowledge of different lighting techniques, both natural and artificial, and their effects on a scene or subject.
  2. Creativity:

    • Ability to think creatively and conceptualize unique shots that convey the desired message or aesthetic.
    • Developing an artistic eye for composition, framing, and storytelling through visual imagery.
  3. Post-Processing Skills:

    • Proficiency in photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other image-processing tools to enhance photos.
    • Experience in color correction, retouching, cropping, and creating visual effects.
  4. Attention to Detail:

    • A keen eye for detail, ensuring every aspect of a photo, from composition to lighting, aligns with the vision of the shoot.
  5. Communication Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, subjects, and teams, ensuring clear expectations and directions.
    • Ability to provide constructive feedback to clients and subjects during shoots.
  6. Time Management:

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of images and maintaining a smooth workflow.
  7. Problem-Solving:

    • Creative problem-solving abilities when faced with unexpected challenges during shoots (e.g., lighting issues, weather conditions, or technical difficulties).
  8. Knowledge of Photography Styles and Trends:
