Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Risk Senior Manager for the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the risk function in UAE overseeing risk identification assessment and mitigation efforts to safeguard the stability and integrity of the organisations operations in the region.
This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of regional market dynamics regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Youll contribute to the mission by:
Be a critical member of the Latam & MEA Risk team in developing and executing a global risk management strategy tailored to the UAE region.
Ensure consistent application of risk management methodologies policies and procedures across all UAE operations.
Conduct risk self assessments for the business in entities as per risk management principles supporting remediation and closure;
Work closely with product teams to value add on risk insights into product changes new product and market launch open issues and horizon risks relevant to the region.
Monitor and analyse regional market trends product risks incidents regulatory developments and emerging risk factors to assess their impact on the organisations risk profile and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Oversee the implementation of risk management tools and systems for UAE leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance risk monitoring reporting and decisionmaking processes.
Work collaboratively with business units and functions to design and implement effective risk mitigation strategies controls and action plans. Monitor the effectiveness of controls and recommend enhancements as necessary.
Provide timely and accurate risk reports and updates to senior management and the board of directors highlighting key risk exposures trends and emerging risks in the region.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with regional regulators industry peers and other external stakeholders to stay abreast of regulatory developments industry trends and best practices in risk management.
What youll bring:
6 years of experience in the financial industry preferably with a focus on the UAE region ideally with first line and second line experience.
Proven track record of successfully leading risk management functions with strong business engagement including developing and implementing regional risk frameworks policies and procedures and leading teams.
Extensive experience in at least one of these: operations enterprise risk and/or regulatory risk management within the financial services industry with a focus on the UAE region
Good understanding of risk management principles risk systems reporting tools including policies and frameworks
Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop practical solutions in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
Strong understanding of regional market dynamics regulatory requirements and geopolitical factors impacting the region with the ability to assess and quantify risks across various business lines and geographies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior management regulators and other stakeholders in the UAE region.
Thrives in a fastpaced dynamic environment and is comfortable navigating the complexities of a subsidiary operation.
Demonstrates a strong ability to drive results internally with global teams while fostering a culture of local ownership and initiative.
Strong commitment to integrity ethics and professionalism with a passion for promoting a strong risk culture and fostering collaboration across the organisations UAE operations.
