Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Daily briefing to be attended.
  • Collect & Prepares cleaning tools and chemicals for the allocated responsible area.
  • Collect and arrange the mise-en-place (OS&E) for kitchen day-to-day requirements.
  • Facilitating the sanitation in the kitchen and F&B operation
  • Assists with checking, receiving, and storing goods.
  • Always maintain storage areas neat and tidy.
  • Handle waste and recycling
  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen
  • Clean the kitchen and equipment as per shift assignment
  • Always maintain personal hygiene
  • Attend the training as per schedule without fail
  • Follow House Rules and Regulations, Health and Safety, and Grooming
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedure of the department and the hotel
  • Follow Food Safety Procedures (ISO22000) of the department and the hotel
  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid, and fire / emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
  • Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify the supervisor on duty of potential dangers
  • Report any damaged / defective equipment from area of responsibility and notify the supervisor on duty
  • Report any sickness at least 3 hours in advance and notify the supervisor on duty
  • Log every after cleaning
  • Log security incidents and accidents in accordance to hotel requirements
  • Report any accident or incident at housing and notify to housing supervisor as well as your direct supervisor on duty

What we need from you:

  • Good understanding and communication of English
  • No skin allergy to chemicals and cleaning substances
  • No tattoos under the arm sleeve and above the neck
  • Willingness to work with a flexible schedule and responds positively to changing requirements includiing the performance of any tasks requested of you
  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar role in a 4 or 5 * hotel
  • Concern for quality and attention to details
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task

Desired candidate profile

  • Attention to Detail:

    • Ability to notice small details related to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
    • Ensuring all areas of the kitchen and dining space are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Cleaning and Sanitization:

    • In-depth knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and sanitation standards.
    • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, tools, and safety procedures for their use.
  • Dishwashing and Kitchen Maintenance:

    • Efficient at dishwashing, including handling large volumes of dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
    • Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen equipment, floors, and surfaces.
  • Time Management:

    • Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment, ensuring the kitchen remains clean and that cleaning duties do not disrupt food service operations.
    • Managing time effectively to complete cleaning tasks and assist in kitchen operations.
  • Physical Stamina:

    • Ability to work long hours on your feet, often in hot or physically demanding conditions.
    • Lifting, moving, and organizing kitchen equipment or food storage containers.
  • Teamwork and Communication:

    • Strong communication skills for interacting with kitchen staff, chefs, and other service team members.
    • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Standards:

    • Understanding and adherence to food safety standards, sanitation practices, and health regulations (such as HACCP – Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point).
    • Ensuring the kitchen environment is free of hazards and maintaining safe practices to prevent accidents or contamination.
  • Organization and Efficiency:

    • Ability to keep the kitchen organized by managing supplies, cleaning tools, and food waste disposal.
    • Ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner without compromising cleanliness or safety.
