Roles and responsibilities
- To prepare summary schedules based on alternative procurement strategies to facilitate Management decision making in determining the most effective project execution strategy.
- To develop, update and maintain systems and procedures relating to Basis of Schedule to include Project procurement planning, Scheduling, Progress Measurement, Progress Reporting, Progress Trending, Progress Certification, consistent with the ADNOC requirements.
- To make in depth review and analysis of all submissions from EPC Contractors during implementation stages that relate to Procurement Planning, Scheduling, Progress Measurement, Reporting, Schedule Risk Analysis, Productivity Analysis. This effort will consider agreements, Project priorities and requirements.
- To endorse monthly physical progress claimed by the Contractors.
- To identify the areas of concern impacting the project procurement completion schedule and to advise the Project Mangers on the proposed corrective actions.
- Critical Path Analysis and the reporting of any areas of concern to the management team.
- To review resource deployment by Contractors and validate their adequacy for meeting the completion schedules based on the productivity rates and recommend enhancements where required.
- To evaluate Variation requests/Claims for extension of project procurement schedules made by Contractors and prepare appropriate recommendations to Management for approval.
- To review, periodically, the Schedule Risk Analysis along with the mitigation measures identified by the Contractors to ensure timely implementation of all agreed migration measures.
- To coordinate with the Project Control Managers of all Project Management Consultants (PMC's) and EPC Contractors to ensure adherence to the project control procedures and other requirements throughout the project duration to achieve successful project procurement implementation.
- To identify/establish KPI’s for all ongoing projects for each year in consultation with the respective Project Managers for each project and to maintain close follow up with PMC and ADNOC Project Management teams thereafter to ensure achievement of KPI's as per plan.
- To prepare Monthly Progress Reports and detailed write-ups / presentations required for Meetings, Board Advisory Committee (BAC) Meetings.
- To provide necessary inputs to the Lead Engineer, Cost Control to facilitate preparation of annual budgets and to provide necessary inputs / justifications for schedule variations as required.
- QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 18 years of diverse experience Projects and/or Contracts including at least 5 years’ experience in planning engineering including at least 10 years of experience Planning, scheduling / Project Controls activities, focused on Procurement, in the Oil, Gas or Petrochemical industry

- Use tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project to create and update schedules, adjusting for changes or delays.
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure that schedules reflect all project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

- Allocate resources effectively, including workforce, equipment, and materials, ensuring availability according to project timelines.
- Optimize resource usage to avoid waste and delays, ensuring that the project proceeds smoothly without bottlenecks.
- Track resource utilization and make adjustments to avoid shortages or excesses that could impact the project schedule.

Project Monitoring and Reporting:
- Continuously monitor the progress of construction activities and compare them against the project schedule to identify potential delays.
- Generate progress reports and provide regular updates to project stakeholders, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting corrective actions if necessary.
- Analyze project performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving project delivery.

Risk Management and Mitigation:
- Proactively identify potential risks to the project timeline, including delays in procurement, construction disruptions, or labor shortages.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans to address risks before they impact the overall project schedule.
- Collaborate with the project manager and team to resolve issues affecting construction progress.

Collaboration and Coordination:
- Coordinate between different departments and teams (e.g., design, procurement, construction) to ensure that construction activities align with overall project goals.
- Work closely with the project manager, construction superintendent, and subcontractors to align activities, timelines, and priorities.
- Facilitate clear communication and ensure that the construction team is aware of any changes in the schedule or scope.

Cost Control and Budget Management:
- Work with the project manager and procurement team to track project costs and ensure they remain within the allocated budget.
- Identify areas where cost savings can be achieved, such as optimizing resource usage or minimizing downtime.
- Help manage change orders and ensure that any variations to the contract are reflected in updated schedules and budgets.

Procurement Planning:
- Ensure that all materials, equipment, and supplies are procured in a timely manner to meet the construction schedule.
- Work with procurement teams to ensure that lead times, delivery dates, and inventory levels are aligned with project needs.
- Ensure that delays in procurement do not affect the construction schedule.

Contractor and Subcontractor Coordination:
- Oversee the work of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that their activities are aligned with the overall construction schedule.
- Ensure that subcontractor schedules are integrated into the master project schedule and that subcontractors meet their obligations in terms of timelines and quality.
- Address issues related to subcontractor performance and ensure they are resolved to maintain project progress.
