Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and resultsdriven Operations/Collections Manager to oversee and optimize the operations and collections processes in our waste management business. This role is critical to ensuring efficient service delivery compliance with local regulations and exceptional customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operations management a deep understanding of waste collection processes and a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Plan organize and supervise daily waste collection operations to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Manage fleet operations including vehicle scheduling maintenance and fuel efficiency.
- Oversee route planning and optimization to reduce operational costs and improve productivity.
- Monitor operational performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Ensure adherence to local laws environmental regulations and company policies.
Team Leadership:
- Lead train and motivate a team of drivers collectors and support staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a culture of safety accountability and teamwork.
Collections and Customer Relations:
- Oversee collection and disposal of waste from residential commercial and industrial clients.
- Address customer inquiries complaints and service issues promptly and professionally.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients government authorities and stakeholders.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for operational and collection activities.
- Track expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate invoicing and collections.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabis waste management regulations and sustainability goals.
- Prepare and submit regular operational reports to senior management.
- Conduct audits and inspections to maintain high standards of service quality and safety.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Identify opportunities for innovation in waste management and implement sustainable practices.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote waste reduction and recycling programs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications :
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Environmental Science Logistics or a related field.
- Masters degree or certifications in Waste Management or Operations Management are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations or collections management preferably in waste management or logistics.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing largescale operations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in route planning software and fleet management tools.
- Strong understanding of waste collection equipment and disposal methods.
- Knowledge of Abu Dhabis environmental regulations and waste management policies.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customerfocused mindset with the ability to handle challenging situations diplomatically.
Additional Information :
- Valid UAE drivers license.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
The position will be based at Abu Dhabi and the person should have core strength in terms of knowledge about waste collection operations ability to understand financial (business models profitability etc) project management skills along with a strong personality
