Roles and responsibilities
Broad technical knowledge in Equipment Packages such as GTG’s, LP/LLP/HP Compressors, Miscellaneous Pumps, Generator Engines, Propulsion Machinery, Offshore cranes, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Boilers, AHU’s, Chiller units etc.

Broad knowledge on HVAC system design for Marine and Offshore platforms
.
Thorough knowledge in package management and related activities till the completion of package life cycle.

Experience in preparation and development of Technical Specifications, Datasheets, and Requisitions for Quotations (RFQ) for various Equipment Packages including high value packages such as GTG’s HP/LP Compressors for Topsides.

Experience in selection and design implementation for equipment packages as per criticality rating
.
Able to manage regular technical meetings with applicable PRE’s, disciplines, Vendors, Trades and Procurement
.
Experience in developing various Mechanical & HVAC engineering deliverables and liaising with Engineers, Designers, Project management to align project milestones
.
Experience in aligning equipment package design requirement for common systems (such as Process Systems, EIT systems etc.) over the battery limits between the Interface scopes
.
Thorough knowledge on HAZID / HAZOP requirements for any selected equipment packages
.
Experience in implementing constructability requirements based on installation criticality
Liaise with Mechanical workshop and other construction departments to resolve any site issues during equipment packages installation
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in a shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Minimum 5 years of experience as Lead Mechanical in Engineering Company
Very good knowledge on classification rules and Engineering standards
Package Engineering experience in high value projects
Working experience in detail engineering with Major EPC projects with a sound knowledge of production Engineering
Desired candidate profile
- Mechanical Engineering Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection.
- HVAC System Design and Optimization: Designing, analyzing, and optimizing HVAC systems for various types of buildings and facilities.
- Load Calculations: Proficiency in performing thermal and cooling load calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., HAP, Trace 700, etc.).
- Energy Efficiency: Expertise in designing energy-efficient mechanical systems, optimizing energy use, and promoting sustainable practices.
- Building Systems Integration: Understanding how HVAC systems integrate with other building systems, such as electrical, structural, and plumbing.
Leadership and Management Skills
- Team Leadership: Leading and managing teams of engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure projects are completed successfully.
- Project Management: Overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Resource Allocation: Managing resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize project efficiency.

Technical Tools and Software
- Design Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other CAD/BIM software for mechanical design and drafting.
- Energy Modeling Software: Experience with software like EnergyPlus, IESVE, or eQUEST for energy modeling and system optimization.
- Project Management Software: Familiarity with tools like MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent to manage schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Calculations Software: Proficiency with load calculation software (e.g., HAP, Trace 700) and simulation tools for airflow and thermodynamics.
Knowledge of Codes, Standards, and Compliance
- Building Codes: Familiarity with local and international building codes (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, SMACNA) for HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Sustainability Standards: Knowledge of green building certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, or WELL for sustainable design practices.
- Health and Safety Regulations: Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, including OSHA standards for HVAC installations and maintenance.
- Fire and Life Safety: Experience in designing systems that meet fire and life safety codes, including smoke control and emergency ventilation.
