Responsibilities
Technician - Maintennace (Shift)
Ø Scheduled inspection of all the mechanical equipment during shift.
Ø Monitor, troubleshoot and Perform maintenance of equipments like Kiln, decolorizer, Hydraulic roller press, separators, belt conveyors, Bucket elevators, VRM, air slides, Stacker and reclaimers, Utility sections as per instructions and maintenance check list.
Ø Carry out welding work as and when required.
Ø Minimize down time of equipment to ensure smooth production.
Ø Maintain accurate shift logs, record equipment performance, and report any incidents or maintenance activities.
Ø Local operation of compressor and other equipment as per instruction from shift manager/CCR operator.
Ø Support to shift manager in trouble shooting of plant problem and to capture the abnormalities during his rounds in shift abnormality register.
Ø Ensure proper lubrication schedule and filling as and when required
Ø Work closely with other technicians and operators to ensure operational goals are met and any technical issues are quickly addressed.
Ø Keeping housekeeping of equipment, related to mechanical equipment’s.
Ø Awareness of safety standards / guidelines and Compliances of Safety standard at site.
Desired candidate profile
1. Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Mechanical Systems: Proficiency in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), conveyors, pumps, and motors. Understanding of system operation and troubleshooting methods.
- Electrical Systems: Knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and control systems. Ability to perform electrical maintenance tasks like replacing switches, outlets, and circuit breakers, as well as diagnosing issues with motors, control panels, and transformers.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems: Familiarity with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including compressors, actuators, valves, and cylinders.
- Plumbing Systems: Basic knowledge of plumbing systems for maintenance tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and ensuring proper functioning of faucets, pipes, and water systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Understanding and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment runs smoothly and avoid breakdowns. This includes inspecting machinery, lubricating components, and replacing worn-out parts.
2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostic Skills
- Root Cause Analysis: The ability to identify the root cause of problems in machinery or systems and not just address the symptoms.
- Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or infrared thermometers to assess the condition of equipment.
- Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting: Expertise in diagnosing both electrical and mechanical issues with equipment, including malfunctioning motors, faulty electrical components, and malfunctioning industrial machinery.
3. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking
- Efficient Troubleshooting: Ability to efficiently assess problems and come up with creative solutions to resolve issues with minimal downtime.
- Time-Sensitive Repairs: Managing repairs effectively in time-sensitive situations, ensuring that equipment is back in operation as quickly as possible.
- Critical Decision-Making: Ability to make sound decisions regarding repairs, replacements, or temporary solutions when equipment fails.
4. Safety and Compliance Knowledge
- Workplace Safety: Understanding and following safety protocols and ensuring safe working practices are maintained, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, goggles, and ear protection.
- Compliance with Regulations: Knowledge of safety regulations such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and other industry-specific guidelines for machinery maintenance.
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO): Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the safety of personnel during maintenance and repair work.
