Roles and responsibilities
The Manager - Supply Chain for is responsible to lead the supply chain operations for our growing network of grocery Dark Stores. The role holder will ensure smooth, efficient and cost-effective supply chain processes for the grocery business.
ROLE PROFILE
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels for groceries and ensuring out of stock situations.
- Analyze sales data and collaborate with the customer to forecast demand, ensuring stock levels meet the end-customer needs, especially for high-turnover grocery items.
- Oversee logistics and transportation operations, ensuring products are delivered to the Dark Stores and the distribution center efficiently and on time, while optimizing transportation costs
- Manage and control supply chain costs, ensuring effective cost-saving initiatives while maintaining the quality and availability of grocery products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the customer and key internal stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries of grocery products.
- Monitor the quality of goods received and stocked, particularly perishables, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Continuously review and improve supply chain processes, identifying areas for automation and streamlining to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensuring effective collaboration with other departments such as operations, sales, and IT to support seamless business growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in grocery, retail or e-Commerce Operations.
- Proven track record in managing inventory, order fulfillment, and logistics for grocery or perishable goods.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on forecasting and demand planning.
- Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and tools for inventory and logistics management.
- Ability to manage suppliers, optimize costs, and maintain high service levels.
