Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

The Manager - Supply Chain for is responsible to lead the supply chain operations for our growing network of grocery Dark Stores. The role holder will ensure smooth, efficient and cost-effective supply chain processes for the grocery business.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels for groceries and ensuring out of stock situations.
  • Analyze sales data and collaborate with the customer to forecast demand, ensuring stock levels meet the end-customer needs, especially for high-turnover grocery items.
  • Oversee logistics and transportation operations, ensuring products are delivered to the Dark Stores and the distribution center efficiently and on time, while optimizing transportation costs
  • Manage and control supply chain costs, ensuring effective cost-saving initiatives while maintaining the quality and availability of grocery products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the customer and key internal stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries of grocery products.
  • Monitor the quality of goods received and stocked, particularly perishables, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Continuously review and improve supply chain processes, identifying areas for automation and streamlining to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensuring effective collaboration with other departments such as operations, sales, and IT to support seamless business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in grocery, retail or e-Commerce Operations.
  • Proven track record in managing inventory, order fulfillment, and logistics for grocery or perishable goods.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on forecasting and demand planning.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and tools for inventory and logistics management.
  • Ability to manage suppliers, optimize costs, and maintain high service levels.

  • Cost Management: Reducing operational costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.

3. Technology Proficiency

  • ERP Systems: Experience with software like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics for supply chain management.
  • Data Analytics: Using tools to analyze and interpret supply chain data for informed decision-making.
  • Automation: Implementing automated solutions to improve logistics and inventory management.

4. Leadership and Team Management

  • Team Coordination: Leading and motivating cross-functional teams across procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Managing relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Conflict Resolution: Addressing disputes or issues effectively.

5. Regulatory Compliance

  • Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
  • Ethical Sourcing: Ensuring suppliers adhere to ethical and sustainable practices.

6. Problem-Solving and Adaptability

  • Crisis Management: Resolving supply chain disruptions swiftly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for enhancement and implementing changes.

7. Customer Focus

  • Service Level Management: Ensuring timely delivery and meeting customer expectations.
  • Feedback Integration: Using customer insights to refine supply chain processes.
