Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The primary purpose of an Infrastructure Resident Engineer (Bridges) is to oversee manage and ensure the successful execution of bridge construction and infrastructure projects. Acting as the clients onsite representative they ensure that the project is completed on time within budget and in compliance with design specifications safety standards and contractual requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Oversight: Act as the clients representative for infrastructure projects ensuring that all works are executed per design specifications contractual agreements and relevant standards.
- Specialization in Bridges: Oversee the construction inspection and maintenance of bridges ensuring compliance with engineering designs safety regulations and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between contractors consultants and stakeholders facilitating effective communication and issue resolution.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to design specifications safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to resolve complex engineering issues and challenges encountered during construction.
- Review and approve contractor submittals shop drawings and material samples ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Track project schedules milestones and deliverables to ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
- Ensure all activities comply with UAE regulations and prepare comprehensive progress and quality reports for stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor site engineers and other team members promoting a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects including bridges
- Experience in design consulting firms in the UAE and GCC region.
- Strong understanding of bridge design construction methodologies and related infrastructure.
- Familiarity with UAE standards codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and project management tools.
- Registration with a recognized engineering body and/or certifications in project management are advantageous.
- Flexible to travel within Abu Dhabi and Dubai site locations.
