Roles and responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing client briefs (RFP’s), responding with tailored proposals, as well as managing small teams to deliver smart, efficient and compliant infrastructure packages to a high standard of quality.
- Preparation of concept and detailed civil infrastructure designs and producing technical and commercial specifications, design reports, drawings and schedules.
- Monitors and controls project budgets and schedules, initiating any necessary action to achieve established financial targets.
- Driving high quality drawing production (working parallel with drafters).
- Preparation of tender submissions including proposal cost and time estimates.
- Liaison with municipalities, utilities, and other consultants for information, as required in pursuit of approvals and general coordination tasks.
- Coordination with the other internal multi-discipline project managers, teams and sub consultants.
- Supervision and mentoring junior staff, providing technical and professional guidance to assist in their development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in engineering or Science (Civil Engineering).
- 10 years of experience with a minimum of 05 years in a UAE based Consultancy.
- Project Management and strong client interfacing experience.
- Possess strong relationships with government and private clients within UAE (all emirates).
- Experienced in both Internal and External Wet Utilites design.
- Technical knowledge wet infrastructure utilities (including sewer, stormwater, potable water, irrigation and firefighting water, district cooling,).
- Possess existing relationships with key decision makers within local (UAE) utility organizations.
- Understanding of modern infrastructure modelling software packages.
- Strong analytical and technical report writing skills and written/verbal communications.
- UAE experience and a solid understanding of design, international standards and construction practices specific to this region, will be considered favorably.
Desired candidate profile
Design and Implementation of Wet Utilities
- Design Water Distribution Systems: Develop designs for water mains, distribution networks, and connections to ensure an efficient and safe water supply.
- Design Sanitary and Sewer Systems: Create sewage and drainage systems that safely carry wastewater and stormwater from buildings to treatment facilities.
- Stormwater Management Design: Design systems to manage rainfall, including retention ponds, detention basins, and sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) to reduce flooding and control runoff.
- Pump Stations and Treatment Plants: Design and manage the installation of pump stations for wastewater or stormwater, and work on designing or upgrading water and sewage treatment plants.
2. Project Planning and Coordination
- Work Closely with Project Teams: Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, urban planners, and other disciplines to integrate wet utility designs within broader infrastructure projects.
- Manage Multiple Projects: Oversee multiple wet utility projects, ensuring coordination between design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all wet utility designs meet local regulations, sustainability targets, and environmental standards.
3. Site Supervision and Quality Control
- Oversee Installation: Monitor the installation of wet utility systems on-site, ensuring that contractors follow the design and quality standards.
- Conduct Site Inspections: Regularly inspect work and construction activities to ensure compliance with the design, codes, and regulations.
- Troubleshoot Installation Issues: Provide guidance on resolving any issues that arise during the installation of wet utilities, such as unexpected site conditions or design modifications.
4. Hydraulic Analysis and System Optimization
- Conduct Hydraulic Analysis: Perform hydraulic calculations and modeling to ensure systems are adequately sized and function properly.
- Optimizing Efficiency: Recommend improvements or optimizations to existing systems to improve water flow, reduce energy consumption, and prevent leaks or blockages.
5. Sustainability and Environmental Impact
- Incorporate Sustainable Practices: Integrate water conservation practices such as greywater recycling and rainwater harvesting into designs.
- Manage Environmental Impact: Ensure wet utility systems minimize the environmental impact, focusing on reducing water usage and preventing pollution.
