Roles and responsibilities
The Senior Landscape Architect will be responsible for leading the landscape design of various projects, working closely with clients, project managers, and other design professionals to ensure successful project delivery. This role focuses on delivering high-quality urban design projects for both internal and external clients, with a strong emphasis on professional development and industry recognition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create the project vision, produce conceptual sketches, and design reports.
- Lead the design process from the conceptual phase through to construction documentation, ensuring the design idea is consistent and accurately executed.
- Prepare and develop drawings, models, images, and other documents relating to the design.
- Meet with clients to discuss the design requirements for new constructions, alterations, or repairs.
- Collaborate closely, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organizations or companies.
- Coordinate the design with all disciplines, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
- Proactively check and coordinate project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary drawings, design reports, technical specifications, etc.) to ensure they meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Take ownership for the preparation of discipline drawings for submission to the Statutory Authorities.
- Develop knowledge of local and international codes, regulations, and submission requirements.
- Set the overall strategy for producing the documents and identify the sheets planned for each stage of the work. This includes defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM).
- Implement SID “Safety in Design” principles throughout the design process and ensure ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Structure throughout projects.
- Mentor and advise less experienced staff, participate in professional development reviews, and “Lessons Learned” sessions.
- Provide urban design solutions from concept to detailed design.
- Perform all phases of the design process, including concept, schematic, and detailed design documentation.
- Manage, coordinate, and lead urban design projects independently.
- Consult with and manage design stakeholders for optimal project outcomes.
- Supervise daily activities of a project or design team, including work allocation and performance feedback.
- Lead the production of project design reports and detailing.
- Prepare proposals and pricing information, and may lead proposals for routine projects.
- Communicate with clients about current work and future needs, providing timely updates on project progress.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across service lines.
- Supervise, support, and train less experienced team members.

Experience and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s qualification in Landscape Architecture or similar.
- Proven experience, with at least 8 years working on medium to large-scale projects.
- Extensive experience from concept through to construction, across a range of project types including residential, commercial, hospitality, medical, leisure, education, and high-rise developments. Previous site experience would be beneficial.
- Strong design capabilities and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Revit, InDesign, 3D rendering software.
- Middle East experience and working knowledge of design and construction practices specific to this region.
- Strong knowledge of local codes, regulations, and submission requirements.
- Experience in fast-track and design-to-budget projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Strong coordination skills.
- Master planning experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Lumion, and Enscape.
- Ability to use Revit tools and elements in urban design documentation and create Revit family – parametric.
