Roles and responsibilities
This position will report into the Manager Business Development and Application Engineering - C&I and Industrial Segment EMEA, who reports into the Product Lines and Strategic Business Development Leader. In this position, the individual is responsible for supporting and driving growth in the target segment and region. This person will work with the sales organizations & segment teams to drive customer specifications and generate demand by providing the pre-sales and tendering support, primarily for Medium Voltage assemblies and Transformers. The BD Engineer will provide the needed customer application and specification expertise driving specification of Eaton solutions, to position Eaton as a successful supplier for selected accounts. The BDE is responsible for meeting the sales objectives in the dedicated segment and region.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborates with sales and segment teams to realize the profit plan, by supporting with detailed technical and commercial information and application requirements.
- Understands electrical distribution and back-up applications and promotes the capabilities, benefits and competitive advantages of Eaton
- Drives the tendering business by providing system design assistance and application support and other info needed to provide tender packages
- Optimize customer designs by supporting with product selection, layouts, competitive comparisons, elevation drawings and system configuration
- Gathers and collects the market and customer needs and provides input for the segment roadmap and strategic planning
- Hosts designer/customer events to drive specification and getting Eaton on the approved vendor list
- Contributes to marketing activities including supporting the development of marketing materials, customer and channel communication, as well as trade shows and conference activities.
- Supports management with key data and insights on market dynamics, target opportunity status, and key tactics being employed to effectively capture new business opportunities.
- Builds new customer relationships and expand existing ones resulting in a healthy pipeline of future opportunities.
- Understand the competitive environment and leverage that knowledge to position the company appropriately in the marketplace along with leveraging the partner channel to to capture market share for Eaton.
- Master Eaton’s product portfolio in MV Assemblies, MV transformers and software tools including Bid Manager to provide quick response times
Desired candidate profile
- Strong knowledge of distribution grids, electrical infrastructures and IEC MV Assembly and MV transformer products with its applications
- Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of Codes and Standards
- Around five years of progressive sales engineering experience selling into major projects
- Understanding project life cycles, the key stakeholders and their personas is a must
- Fluent in written and oral English. Arabic is a benefit.
- Can build collaborative relationships with customers, colleagues, and other company personnel.
- Understands and practices the need for effective communications inside and outside the company (Strategic know-how)
- Able to select markets, customers and segments
