Roles and responsibilities
The Hardware Engineer will primarily work as part of the product development team providing the electronics design/redesign required for the products. This person shall have experience of designing PCB layout systems that are required to maintain product requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Designing and developing electronics, including circuit design, component selection, PCB design, signal integrity and power management, for new products
- Continuous improvement of electronics design in existing products
- Capturing, specifying and managing design requirements.
- Undertake and/or supervise verification and validation of new product designs
- Apply expertise to the design of electronics products, advancing the capabilities of the department.
- Ensuring that Design to Cost, Design for Manufacture and Design for Test best practices are followed.
- Maintaining an awareness of current industry trends and maintaining relationships with suppliers to make best use of emerging technologies
- Experience in schematic capture and layout design of multi-layer complex PCBs
- Handle project individually from schematics to Gerber and complete within timeline.
- Support to other functional team for layout design.
- Able to interface with Mechanical engineering team to understand physical constraints, design parameters and develop
- In depth experience in the Micro Controller / Processor based electronics design is a primary requirement. Strong basics on electronics based design is highly desirable.
- Understanding of requirements product specification and customer requirements is required
- Need to develop new product and sustain engineering support new production development and sustaining activities of existing products as subject matter expert.
- Having design simulation experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of overall design engineering processes encompassing "Design - Development - Testing - Product Launch" is required.
- Provide manufacturability perspective for early concepts and help validate through building appropriate designs. Assist with building prototypes that help in proof of concept and work with all different stake holders
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical / Electronics/Instrumentation
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in core domain as PCB Layout designer
Desired candidate profile
- Must have experience Schematic design along with PCB Design using CAD Tools like CADSTAR, Altium or similar tools
- Exposure to SPICE simulation analysis for circuitry
- Good collaboration and communication to interact with cross functional teams
- Working with design engineer to understand the requirement.
- Understanding qualifying certification aspects of the product and apply the same on the design.
- Bring in best practice from other parts of the company and from outside the company to avoid unnecessary learning cycles.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout design experience
- Strong analytical and logical thinking
