Roles and responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintenance and optimizing machine and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
This role requires a strong understanding of machine and equipment engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
The Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance work on mechanical machines and equipment (stamping, punching, moulding and composite machines) including inspections, cleanings and lubrications
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in manufacturing systems.
- Support in training of new employees in using new automation technologies
- Preparation of technical documentation, operating instructions and training material
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Creation of machine safety concepts and machine data concepts
- Mechanical design, assembly of machines and equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and processes.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Integration of robotic systems and other automated components into existing production processes
- Functional tests and performance tests on automation systems, troubleshooting and optimization.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Introduction of Industry 4.0 technologies (such as 3D printing, AMR, predictive maintenance, simulation, ...)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (greenfield and industrialisation is advantageous)
- 3-5 years experience within a similar position
Desired candidate profile
- Comfortable with CAD, MS-Office, ERP-systems (SAP), LEAN and standardizes work (CI-tools knowledge)
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
- Experience in industrial automation
- Digitalisation and automation project management experience would be a plus
- Accountable, teamwork, Motivated, engaged, proactive, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in written and oral English (German would be a plus)
- This role will require traveling (up to 50%)
