Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement pricing strategies for automotive aftermarket products and services.
  • Work closely with the Tier 2 Pricing Manager in preparing financial impact analyses.
  • Create illustrations and visualizations of data that are easily comprehensible to non-technical stakeholders, communicating analysis results as measures of the business's impact.

Pricing Support

  • Work closely with sales team to provide pricing support, address pricing related enquiries such as high-volume discounts and facilitate effective price negotiation with customers.
  • Identify ad-hoc process which should be standardized.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze pricing queries and effectiveness of responses.
  • Identify and document system issues around pricing support.
  • Ensure vehicle model job pricing is up to date and maintained within online portal
  • Documentation of all the query scenarios and workaround.
  • Support ad-hoc inquiries by modeling the impact and effect of various scenarios such as customer trend, negotiation options, product mix etc.
  • Collaborate with sales team to collect relevant feedback on pricing issues which needs to be addressed.

Price Optimization & Margin Monitoring,

  • Conduct regular pricing reviews to ensure alignment with company objectives and market conditions, covering specifically Tier 2 business.
  • Implement pricing changes and promotions as needed to drive sales and meet revenue targets for Tier 2 business.
  • Monitor and correct erroneous pricing, such as low or negative margins, while analyzing root causes.
  • Ensure Tier 2 prices across sales channels and brands are accurately updated in SAP and Advanced parts pricing (APP) system.
  • Ensure margins are in line with business structures and factors, utilizing pricing solution software.

Price setting and review

  • Support the team with biannual price revisions by setting prices in appropriate SAP and APP price lists.
  • Validate and cross check the gross margin at item level to avoid any future below cost issues
  • Support the Tier 2 pricing manager to identify appropriate system changes required in SAP and APP to implement new pricing policies.
  • Automate and streamline existing price setting process.

Required skills to be successful:

  • Proven experience in pricing analysis, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Hands-on work experience using visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience programming (beyond simple scripts) in a modern scientific language would be beneficial (e.g., Python, Matlab, R)

About The Team:

The role will report to the Pricing Manager and will be working in a dynamic and busy After Sales environment wherein you will be dealing directly with different Stakeholders across the organization.

What Equips You For The Role:

  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a multinational environment
  • Distributor and OEM experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge of automotive aftermarket products and services is required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.

Desired candidate profile

  • Pricing Strategy Development:

    • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior to develop effective pricing strategies.
    • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure pricing strategies align with the company’s overall business objectives and market positioning.
    • Recommend pricing structures (e.g., discounting, bundling, tiered pricing) based on the company’s goals and market dynamics.
  • Market and Competitor Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of competitors' pricing strategies to identify trends, strengths, and weaknesses.
    • Regularly review and assess the competitive landscape to ensure the company’s pricing is competitive and aligned with market demand.
    • Gather data on customer willingness to pay, competitor pricing models, and industry trends to inform pricing decisions.
  • Cost Analysis and Profitability Management:

    • Collaborate with the finance team to analyze the cost structure of products or services and ensure the pricing covers costs while maintaining profitability.
    • Assess product lifecycle costs, overhead, and margins to determine optimal pricing and achieve profitability targets.
    • Monitor price elasticity and assess how changes in price impact sales volume and revenue.
  • Pricing Implementation and Adjustments:

    • Work with sales and product teams to implement pricing decisions, ensuring alignment with sales goals and product offerings.
    • Monitor sales performance and make pricing adjustments as needed to respond to market changes, competitor actions, or internal objectives.
    • Update pricing models, promotional pricing, and discounting strategies based on customer feedback, seasonality, and market demand.
  • Pricing Communication and Training:

    • Communicate pricing strategies clearly to internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, product teams) and ensure that all relevant parties are aligned.
    • Provide training and guidance to the sales team on pricing strategies, discounting policies, and value propositions to effectively sell products and services.
    • Work closely with customer service teams to ensure that pricing-related queries from customers are handled effectively.
