Roles and responsibilities

Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients' physical abilities, movement patterns, and pain levels.
- Use physical tests, observations, and patient history to diagnose issues such as joint problems, muscle weakness, postural imbalances, or neurological conditions.

Developing Treatment Plans:
- Design personalized rehabilitation plans based on patients’ specific needs, conditions, and goals.
- Educate patients on their conditions and the role of physiotherapy in recovery.

Physical Therapy Techniques:
- Apply therapeutic exercises to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
- Use manual therapy techniques like joint mobilization, manipulation, and soft tissue massage to relieve pain and improve movement.
- Employ modalities like heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to reduce pain and inflammation.

Patient Education and Advice:
- Teach patients exercises and stretches to continue outside of therapy sessions.
- Provide ergonomic advice, posture correction techniques, and strategies for injury prevention.
- Help patients manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, back pain, or stroke recovery.

Progress Monitoring and Adjustments:
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective recovery.
- Work closely with other healthcare providers to ensure integrated care and that the patient’s physical therapy aligns with other treatments.

Rehabilitation:
- Guide patients through post-surgery rehabilitation (e.g., knee or hip replacements, ligament repairs).
- Assist in recovery from injuries such as sprains, strains, fractures, or sports injuries.

Pain Management:
- Help patients manage acute or chronic pain through various methods, including manual techniques, exercise, and education about pain management strategies.

Prevention and Wellness:
- Focus on preventing injuries or relapses by designing wellness programs and advising on activities that improve strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Educate patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying active as part of long-term health maintenance.
Desired candidate profile
- Formulate and deliver an individualised treatment programme based on evidence based practice and treatment options, using clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of various treatment models.
- Ensure appropriate referral of patients to other professionals and services using established protocols and pathways.
- Diagnosis injury and develop individualised treatment programs for patients.
- Undertake clinical duties as required.
- Assist in the development and education of treatment programs.
- Make recommendations to the Practice Manager for changes within the area of physiotherapy to enhance services.
- Provide emergency care to patients as necessary and attend annual resuscitation training.
- Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients, including those with diverse or complex healthcare needs.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise for treatment management and recognise areas for improvement.

What Quaifies You For The Role:
- Emiratization
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised institution
- Previous Biomedical experience of working in a healthcare envirnment
