Roles and responsibilities
- Submit, Apply, follow up and receive all visas for employment, residence, corrections, cancellations and visit visas for full time Colleagues and short-term contractors.
- Be the external face of One&Only Royal Mirage and manage a strong business working relationship with the relevant government entities, main immigration and other key government organizations to facilitate the resorts requirements.
- On a daily basis visit various government organizations to complete all required visa related transactions.
- Use the submission list from the government Admin assistant to arrange the medical appointments for all Colleagues which includes all the necessary documents.
- Handle all Colleague and contractor’s medical tests at government clinics to complete their residence visas.
- Apply, follow up and receive all residence and employment visa corrections from the relevant government entities.
- Submit, follow up and receive all service letters for Colleagues.
- Follow up, receive and hand over all Colleague labor cards on a regular basis to the Government Relations team.
- Apply, follow up and receive all visa refund applications for the relevant government entities and communicate the same to the Government Relations team.
- Apply, follow and receive all Colleague family & dependent residence and visit visas and communicate the same to the Government Relations team.
- Submit, follow up and receive all residence and employment visa renewals for Colleagues and dependents respectively.
- Submit, follow up and receive all absconder immigration print outs and hand over the same to the Government Relations team.
- Submit, follow up and receive all residence and employment visa cancellation applications and hand over the same to the Government Relations team.
- Manage government entity visa portal reconciliation process on a monthly basis and send the same to finance.
- Manage and return all visa cancellation and exit papers to the relevant government entities on a monthly basis.
- Troubleshoot any guest tourist visa issues and assist the reservations department.
- Manage all Colleague police cases and report the same to the Manager.
- Manage reconciliation file and updates the relevant government entities.
- Prepare a weekly report of all key issues with the relevant government entities.
- Work in conjunction with the HR Department to ensure a seamless on-boarding process for all New Hires at all levels.
- Make use of HRMS & visa tracker reporting to ensure that no fines are paid for overstaying on any previous residence or employment visa cancellations or visit visas of newly hired Colleagues.
- Any and all other duties as may be assigned by the Manager, Government Relations Department.
Desired candidate profile
1. Government Relations and Advocacy:
- Maintain Relationships with Government Officials: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with government stakeholders, including elected officials, regulators, and public policy influencers.
- Advocacy and Lobbying: Assist in advocating for the organization’s interests by monitoring legislative and regulatory activities. You may be involved in developing and implementing lobbying strategies.
- Monitor Policy and Legislative Changes: Stay informed on government policies, legislation, and regulations that could impact the organization’s operations, industry standards, or market conditions. Provide timely updates to senior management.
- Represent the Organization: Act as a liaison between the organization and governmental agencies, ensuring that the company’s views and concerns are communicated effectively to policymakers and regulators.
2. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies. This could include assisting with the development of compliance strategies or responding to government inquiries.
- Regulatory Reporting: Assist in preparing and submitting reports required by government agencies or legislative bodies.
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Track changes in laws, regulations, and political environments that could impact the organization. Help develop responses to such changes, including strategic adjustments or lobbying efforts.
3. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Draft Communications: Assist in preparing reports, speeches, and presentations for government officials, executives, or external stakeholders.
- Coordinate Meetings and Briefings: Arrange meetings with government officials, industry groups, and trade associations to promote the organization’s interests.
- Public Relations: Work closely with the public relations team to communicate the organization’s stance on regulatory or policy issues to the public and stakeholders.
4. Strategic Policy Development:
- Provide Strategic Input: Support the development of the company’s overall government relations strategy by gathering intelligence, analyzing data, and offering insights on political, regulatory, and public policy trends.
- Policy Analysis: Analyze proposed or existing legislation, policies, and regulations, and assess their impact on the organization’s interests. Provide recommendations to senior management on how to navigate or respond to these issues.
- Develop Advocacy Strategies: Assist in developing strategies to advocate for favorable policies or regulations and work with industry associations, coalitions, or external lobbying firms to implement those strategies.
