Roles and responsibilities
1. Guest Support and Emotional Well-Being:
- Provide Emotional Support: Offer counseling and emotional support to guests who may be experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional challenges during their stay.
- One-on-One Sessions: Conduct individual or group counseling sessions to address personal issues such as relationship problems, grief, or mental health concerns.
- Crisis Intervention: Assist in emergency situations or provide immediate support in case of emotional distress or trauma, such as helping guests cope with sudden loss or personal crises.
- Stress Management: Teach guests relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and other methods to cope with stress, which can be particularly useful in a resort or wellness environment.
- Conflict Resolution: Offer strategies for resolving personal conflicts, whether between guests, within families, or in the workplace, in the case of employees.
2. Employee Support (if applicable):
- Provide Employee Assistance: Offer counseling services for hotel or resort employees dealing with workplace stress, personal challenges, or burnout.
- Workplace Wellness Programs: Organize and promote mental health and well-being programs for staff, including stress reduction, coping strategies, and work-life balance initiatives.
- Confidential Support: Create a safe and confidential space where employees can discuss personal issues that may affect their work performance or emotional health.
3. Guidance on Wellness and Personal Development:
- Wellness Programs: Collaborate with wellness departments (e.g., spa, fitness, yoga) to develop and implement wellness programs aimed at enhancing overall guest and staff well-being.
- Personal Development Counseling: Provide guidance on self-improvement, goal setting, personal growth, and life changes, assisting individuals in developing healthier coping strategies and improving mental resilience.
- Empowerment and Coping Techniques: Offer sessions on empowering individuals to overcome challenges and cope with life changes, both for guests seeking personal growth and staff members.
4. Confidentiality and Ethical Practice:
- Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure that all counseling sessions and personal information shared by guests or employees are kept confidential, in compliance with ethical guidelines and legal standards.
- Professional Boundaries: Set and maintain clear boundaries in professional relationships, ensuring that the role remains focused on supporting individuals’ well-being.
5. Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Work with Medical or Wellness Teams: Coordinate with medical professionals, wellness instructors, and other service providers to address guests’ or employees’ mental health and physical wellness needs.
- Refer Guests to External Resources: When necessary, refer guests or employees to external counselors, therapists, or mental health professionals for specialized treatment or long-term support.
6. Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Document Sessions and Progress: Keep accurate, confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions, noting progress, challenges, and any relevant follow-up actions.
- Report to Management (as needed): In cases of severe distress or potential harm, report to management, ensuring that guests or employees receive the appropriate level of care, while respecting confidentiality where possible.
7. Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity:
- Respect Diverse Backgrounds: Provide culturally sensitive counseling by respecting the values, beliefs, and backgrounds of guests and employees from diverse cultures, ensuring that the counseling services are inclusive and accessible to all.
- Adapt Techniques to Individual Needs: Tailor counseling approaches and techniques based on the specific needs, preferences, and cultural context of each individual.
Desired candidate profile
We are looking for a KidsOnly Counselor who is responsible for the well-being of the participating children by providing highly personalized efficient and responsive service during operating hours of the kids club. You will facilitate all the activities/ programs introduced by Management and KidsOnly Assistant Manager. Duties also include supervising, directing, assisting, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the Kids Club and its surroundings.
About You
A perfect candidate should be a Childcare & Education graduate with recent and relevant experience is an advantage. Minimum of 1 year in a similar role is required. Excellent communication skills. Flexibility and multi- tasking skills. Ability to work well independently as well as part of the team.
