Roles and responsibilities

A Senior Utility BIM Designer plays a crucial role in the design and management of utility infrastructure projects using Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques. Here are the key skills and attributes essential for this position:

  1. Advanced BIM Software Proficiency: Expertise in BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, and Navisworks for utility design and coordination.

  2. Utility Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of utility systems (water, wastewater, gas, electricity) and relevant engineering principles.

  3. 3D Modeling Skills: Ability to create and modify detailed 3D models for utility systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

  4. Coordination and Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of designs.
