Junior Electrical Engineer

Roles and responsibilities

• Reporting to the Lead Discipline Engineer, the candidate will assume sole responsibility for assigned engineering tasks
• To carry out process discipline work within a project team, supporting the project team for field development of oil & gas production facilities
• To prepare process deliverables for a project in the oil and gas industry, and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the Client’s policies and procedures.
• To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
• To promote safe behaviour at all times.
• To carry out tasks as directed by the Lead / Senior Discipline Engineers
• To co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
• To assist in the coordination of all activities related to process engineering design
  

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with an Electrical Engineering degree
• Familiar with the fundamentals of electrical engineering design and analysis
• Strong commitment to safety
• Excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
• Well adept in utilizing MS Office
• Good communication, reporting and presentation skills
• Assisting in Design: Support the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
• Drafting and Modeling: Create technical drawings and models using software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• Testing and Validation: Assist in testing electrical components and systems to ensure they meet specifications and safety standards.

Desired candidate profile

6. Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and other team members to contribute to project planning and execution.

Required Skills

1. Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and system analysis.
2. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB) is often required.
3. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and perform basic calculations related to electrical systems.
4. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting.
5. Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to learn from senior engineers and develop technical skills.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: A degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Internships: Previous internships or co-op experiences in engineering can be advantageous for securing a position.
