Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Promote and demonstrate safety leadership behaviors
  • Always act ethically and with the utmost integrity
  • Champion and follow the relevant DOA and commercial / contracting policies
  • Manage, support, and deliver, under limited supervision
  • Client contracts (bespoke and standard forms) including project-specific contracts and MSA’s
  • Review proposed contract qualifications with other functions, as required, to ensure the balance of risk is appropriate for the associated services and remuneration mode
  • Providing overviews of contract T&Cs and associated issues to senior management and execution teams, as applicable
  • Provide guidance to the assigned business(es) on client contracting and negotiation strategies and terms and conditions
  • Engagement with other functions to identify strategies to avoid/mitigate risks associated with contract terms and Contracting Policy deviations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years in oil and Gas industry
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position for international Oil & Gas projects
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is a pre-requisite for the role
  • Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure favorable terms.

  • Compliance: Ensuring that all contractual obligations are met and that the project adheres to relevant laws and regulations.

  • Risk Assessment: Identifying potential risks related to contracts and developing strategies to mitigate them.

  • Cost Control: Monitoring project costs related to contracts and ensuring that expenditures align with budgetary constraints.

  • Dispute Resolution: Addressing and resolving any contractual disputes that arise, potentially involving mediation or arbitration.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborating with project managers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on contractual matters.

  • Change Management: Managing changes to contracts as projects evolve, including variations and amendments, while documenting impacts on costs and timelines.

  • Reporting: Preparing reports on contract performance, risks, and issues for senior management and stakeholders.

  • Training and Mentorship: Providing guidance and support to junior contracts engineers and team members on best practices and contractual obligations.
