Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Staff Management:

    • Supervise, train, and mentor store employees, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
    • Schedule shifts and assign tasks to ensure sufficient coverage during busy periods.
    • Address any staffing issues, such as attendance problems or performance concerns, and provide guidance for improvement.
  • Inventory Control:

    • Monitor stock levels to ensure the store has adequate supplies of food items, especially high-demand products.
    • Oversee stock replenishment and manage ordering processes to avoid shortages or overstocking.
    • Work with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and address any supply chain issues.
  • Customer Service:

    • Ensure staff provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a professional manner.
    • Handle escalated customer complaints and find effective solutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
    • Implement customer feedback mechanisms to continually improve the store’s service standards.
  • Sales and Profitability:

    • Monitor daily sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue.
    • Promote special offers, discounts, and loyalty programs to drive sales.
    • Analyze sales data and trends to make informed decisions regarding stock, pricing, and promotions.
  • Store Presentation and Cleanliness:

    • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-presented at all times.
    • Oversee the arrangement of food items on shelves, ensuring products are neatly displayed and easy to locate for customers.
    • Ensure that food items are properly labeled with correct pricing and expiration dates.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure all food handling and storage practices comply with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for both customers and staff.
    • Train staff on hygiene protocols, food safety procedures, and emergency response actions.
  • Cash Management:

    • Supervise cash handling procedures, ensuring tills are balanced and deposits are made securely.
    • Oversee staff handling of transactions, including refunds and exchanges, ensuring accuracy and honesty.
    • Team Motivation and Leadership:

    • Foster a positive work environment by motivating and supporting staff.
