Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Develop and implement detailed project plans and schedules to ensure timely completion.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to align project objectives.
  2. Supervision of Construction Activities:

    • Oversee daily on-site operations to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to the project plan.
    • Monitor and direct the activities of the construction team, including subcontractors and laborers.
  3. Health and Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Address and resolve any on-site safety concerns or incidents.
  4. Quality Control:

    • Ensure all construction work meets the required quality standards and project specifications.
    • Inspect completed work and materials for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
    • Identify defects or potential issues and take corrective actions when necessary.
  5. Resource Management:

    • Manage and allocate resources such as labor, equipment, and materials effectively to ensure optimal project progress.
    • Monitor material usage, track inventory levels, and ensure timely procurement of supplies.
  6. Budget and Cost Management:

    • Track project expenses and ensure they stay within the allocated budget.
    • Approve and manage site-related costs, including labor payments and material purchases.
  7. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution:

    • Identify potential issues or delays in construction activities and take proactive measures to address them.
    • Resolve disputes between contractors, workers, or other stakeholders on-site.
  8. Progress Reporting:

    • Provide regular updates to senior management and clients on project progress, timelines, and any challenges.
    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including labor hours, materials used, and incidents.
  9. Permit and Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure that all necessary permits are obtained before construction begins.
    • Make sure the project complies with local building codes, environmental regulations, and legal requirements.
  10. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and motivate the on-site team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Conduct meetings to review progress, address issues, and align all team members on project goal.
