Skills

Successful candidates will need to:

  • Hold a BEd or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
  • Have proven experience of teaching Business & Economics at GCSE and/or A Level
  • Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice

  • Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
  • Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning & teaching
  • Have aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
  • Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events.

Desired candidate profile

  1. Subject Matter Expertise: In-depth knowledge of business concepts, economic theories, and real-world applications, covering areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship.

  2. Teaching Skills: Ability to design and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and promote active participation.

  3. Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and facilitate discussions among students.

  4. Critical Thinking: Encouraging students to analyze information, evaluate scenarios, and make informed decisions based on economic and business principles.

  5. Assessment Skills: Proficiency in creating assessments that measure student understanding and providing constructive feedback for improvement.

  6. Real-World Application: Ability to connect theoretical concepts to current events and real-world business scenarios, helping students see the relevance of what they are learning.

  7. Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with educational technology and tools that enhance teaching and engage students, such as data analysis software and online learning platforms.

  8. Collaboration: Working with colleagues and other educators to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enrich the learning experience.

  9. Cultural Awareness: Understanding and respecting diverse backgrounds, promoting an inclusive environment that values different perspectives in business and economics.

  10. Passion for Teaching: A genuine enthusiasm for business and economics that inspires students to explore these fields and consider potential careers.
