Job Summary:
The Civil Lab Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory tests in accordance with the assigned standard test methods and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results. This role supports the laboratorys quality standards by maintaining equipment following safety protocols and performing quality control tests. The technician will also undergo relevant training to enhance skills and stay uptodate with the required testing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assigned laboratory tests according to the standard test methods and report results to the Technical Supervisor.
- Accurately document test results and ensure that worksheets are filled adequately during testing.
- Ensure that all laboratory equipment used for testing is maintained in optimal working condition.
- Use only calibrated equipment for testing purposes where necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols by wearing necessary safety gear while performing tests.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laboratory and surrounding premises to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in internal and external training programs as required by the organization to improve technical expertise.
- Perform intermediate checks on equipment as specified by testing standards.
- Conduct tests for internal quality control samples and proficiency test samples and report findings to the Unit Head.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
Previous experience in a civil laboratory setting is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Knowledge of standard test methods and laboratory procedures.
Ability to handle and maintain testing equipment effectively.
Familiarity with safety regulations and the use of safety equipment in the lab.
Willingness to undergo necessary training programs.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
