Job Purpose
The GC Analyst ensures toptier quality by analyzing all raw materials and fragrance batches using Gas Chromatography . Reporting to the Quality Control Manager and supporting the production team the role involves identifying quality variations documenting nonconformances and overseeing rework to meet specifications. This role is crucial for upholding product integrity and ensuring the smooth operation of our processes.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Gas Chromatography Analysis: Perform comprehensive gas chromatograph analysis on incoming raw materials lab samples and finished goods to ensure quality standards are met.
  • GCFID Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on the GCFID equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Library Management: Regularly update and manage the raw materials library within the GCFID system ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain an adequate stock of spare parts and consumables for GCFID ensuring uninterrupted operations.
  • Production Support: Collaborate with the production team to address and resolve any queries related to raw materials or production batches ensuring seamless workflow.
  • Troubleshooting & Rework: Identify and troubleshoot quality issues providing clear and actionable rework instructions as needed.
  • QC Technician Support: Assist Quality Control Technicians with their daily tasks ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean organized and safe workspace adhering to 5S principles and promoting a productive work environment.
  • Compliance: Strictly adhere to the companys quality environmental health and safety policies and procedures contributing to a culture of safety and responsibility.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as directed by the line manager contributing to the overall success of the quality control team.
Skills and Attributes Required
  • Mandatory: Degree in Chemistry.
  • Experience: 25 years in the chemical industry preferred; GC experience required.
  • Sensory Skills: Must have an excellent sense of smell and achieve a minimum pass mark of >16 on the Company sensory assessment test.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail.
  • Work Efficiency: Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure both independently and as part of a team.
  • ProblemSolving: Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Data Accuracy: Ability to accurately record and maintain all data.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills with flexibility to cover shifts as needed.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in the fragrance industry is advantageous
