We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Speech Therapist specializing in pediatric care to join our team at a leading hospital in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating speech language and communication disorders in children. This role requires a deep understanding of child development and a compassionate approach to working with young patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of children s speech language and communication abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations.
Diagnosis: Identify speech and language disorders such as articulation issues stuttering voice disorders and language delays.
Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to the specific needs of each child focusing on improving communication skills and addressing any underlying conditions.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide oneonone and group therapy sessions using evidencebased techniques to enhance speech language and cognitivecommunication abilities.
Family Education: Collaborate with parents and caregivers to educate them on how to support their childs progress at home providing exercises and strategies to reinforce therapy goals.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians occupational therapists psychologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child s care.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of each child s progress treatment plans and any modifications to therapy.
Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in pediatric speech therapy through continuing education workshops and professional networks.
Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements particularly those concerning patient confidentiality and child protection.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology or Speech Therapy from an accredited institution.
License: Must hold a valid Speech Therapist license recognized by Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
Experience: Minimum of 23 years of experience working with children in a clinical or hospital setting.
Skills:
Strong understanding of child development and pediatric communication disorders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage children effectively.
Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Languages: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Working Conditions:
Hours: Fulltime position 40 hours per week with potential weekend or evening shifts based on patient needs.
Environment: Primarily based in the pediatric rehabilitation department with some sessions taking place in inpatient or outpatient settings.
Physical Requirements: The role involves activities such as sitting for extended periods engaging in playbased therapy and occasionally lifting or assisting children.
